Really glad we didn't lose on pens! It would have been unjust on our players to miss a pen. They all did us proud.
I said the same when we were leaving the ground, I think it would have been even more disappointing and unjust on the players who were fantastic. I wouldn't have fancied our chances, as all the players could hardly put one foot in front of the other when it finished. What a lonely sole Livermore look at the end, sat on his own in the middle of the field he looked gutted.

I couldn't have done penalties. I had nothing left after extra time as it was. I hate them at the best of times and always hide my face in my hands at the KC.
I thought it was set up to historically be our day to win on pens (having lost the first-ever penalty shoot-out it seems apt that our first trophy would be decided on them).
I actually fancied us to win on pens. Ozil and Gazorla had been taken off and not many were left who normally take pens. I fancied McGregor to save at least one and Arsenal to miss the target with another one as the pressure would have been on them more so. Shame that we shall never know now. At least we remain undefeated in normal time @ Wembley now. Small comfort i know.
I didn't see us scoring or coming close after about sixty minutes so I would have taken them. It seemed the only option. I didn't have much hope we'd do ok, but I couldn't see us scoring in open play. What an atmosphere. Wonder just how much noise we'd have made if they were taken at our end. Like others, I was done for by full time and couldn't take much more.

I don't doubt that we'd deserved to get to pens! But I just didn't want someone to miss and be blamed! I know a lot of us wouldn't blame a player but a lot of the idiots would!
