    Read an article this morning where it said Danny Murphy is the best
    penalty taker in the premiership.
    Does any of you budding statisticians know how many he took in his
    career with FFC, and what was his success rate. <badger><badger><badger>

    I believe exactly half of his goals for us were from penalties ie 14. How many he missed? - definitely 1 in Europe against CSKA.

    I remember he missed one which the keeper saved and then tapped in the rebound. Not sure if it counts as a miss though?

    Statistically, I'm pretty sure Clint Dempsey is the worst. Every time I see him take one, I have to watch through my fingers.

    I can still hear my anguish in that 93rd minute of the Chelsea game DR, but I think you're being a bit harsh. Demps has only taken 4 penalties, scoring twice and missing twice. And he's done all right when taking them for the USA team as evidenced from this recent World Cup qualifier -
