We play City in a dumb hinger of a derby. Hammers drawing means if we win we go level on points with them, and are a point behind City. It's a great opportunity to push on for Top 4. With Kompany and Otamendi out and Pellegrini looking like he doesnt give a fck about the league, this is gagging for United to go all out for the 3 points. So will Van Gaal take the opportunity he's been given? Will he fck.
This has thrilling, end to end 0 - 0 written all over it. The highlights will be Fellani getting sent off and Martial breaking into a smile and making us think that he actually wants to be here after all.
We wont beat them. He's as much a dead man walking as Pellegrini, so who are we kidding. Anyway I forgot the interesting fact... Van Gaal is the ultimate jinx. EVERY single one of his pre-match comments involving a prediction or target have been the kiss of death for the subsequent game. Here is his latest offering "We have to beat City and we have a chance to still qualify for the Champions League." That's the end of that then. However, as a result I have written to him asking him to use "reverse jinx" in future. So before playing West Ham I'm advising him to say "It's very likely we will lose and have absolutely no chance of winning the FA Cup".
Conundrum. The players read the papers, they know the score, so will the almost certain knowledge of Jose coming in make them up their game to stay at the club or do they just continue to go through the motions for LvG. If they know their futures at the club depend on some good performances it could prove to be an interesting few weeks. Play too well and LvG might stay, play as they have been and they might be jettisoned by Jose in a matter of weeks..............
I think LvG has gone past the point of staying regardless of where we finish. I'm sure that even he knows this. I also don't believe that the players intend on never doing their best. But the question is if their best is good enough. They have all disappointed this season, especially from midfield up and they must for sure know that their very own future hinges on their current form. If they don't, then they are as stupid as they come.
£££ - Hart, Sagna, Demichelis, Mangala, Clichy, Fernandinho, Toure (C), Navas, Sterling, Silva, Aguero
The results so far have been kind this weekend. Looking at that CB pairing for City we can forego the million sideway passes for once surely???
