http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26509130 Pellegrini says crashing out of the FA cup wont affect their chances of winning more trophies this season. Erm.....yeah it will, going out the FA cup will reduce your chances of winning the FA cup to 0%. And if you are going for 3 trophies (League, FA Cup, CL) then crashing out the FA cup will reduce your chances of winning a trophy by 33.33% I think he meant to say it wont affect their league form, but thats not what he says. Lets all laugh at his lack of understanding of English Muhahaha. Im bored.
What I hope it does, it shows teams they can get results against City, especially at the Etihad. Only we have taken points of City there in the league and we could do with City dropping some more points this season at home if possible. With City's fixture's piling up I think this exit may help them in the league in the long run, but certainly doesn't help their chances of more silverware!
This. A lot of teams have bottled it against City at the Etihad this year. If Wigan can get points there so can anyone. Its not like City fielded a weak team either, it was pretty much their strongest XI (except for maybe Silva, who came on as a sub anyway).
Pellegrini is not getting the best from City yet, especially consistency. He's not Robinson Crusoe there though. We seem to be a 45 min team too often, but the results are coming. Real mystery why PL teams this year just can't seem to get any consistency. Could it be the players are so pampered they lack ambition?? After all if you have everything the world has to offer in a financial sense by your mid 20s, what else is there to strive for?? A close friend who is a leading Psychologist in Boston, is convinced too much to soon is a major cause of depression among wealthy young men, leading to all kinds of long term motivational and behavioural problems. A bit like the famous model of 20 saying she wouldn't get out of bed for less than 10 grand.
Mancini mentioned City's mentality last season, i.e. they don't treat every game like a United, Chelsea or Arsenal.
Pellagrini HAS to make a positive comment after a tonking by a Championship side! I'm not sure too many will have been taken in by it!
Should still have been good enough to beat a mid table championship side though dude. **** happens though and it will at some point happen again, to any team and at any time.
They're pretty much out of the CL already too so it means they will have 100% attention on the league.
