A exclusive in the old currant bun yestrday by Pele, agree about Messi- not so much about Maradonna though. I would rate Maradonna above Pele (even though he was a cheating little*unt, Pele only played in Brazil and the USA so thats why for m he scored so many goals, whereas Maradonna created his own chances.Who do you reacon were the best players?

    Messi>Maradona>Pele

As for reasons above i.e. Pele only playing in Brazil and USA plus also these days all players are fitter and so 'superstar' players don't get such an easy ride to beat fat unfit defenders like the olden days ;)

Messi has my vote because he score an intense amount of goals whilst creating so many more and unlike the other 'superstar' around at the mo tries to stay on his feet whenever possible.

Although Maradona will be remembered by English fans for the 'hand of god' and by the world for his drugs habits he was still in a similar mould (on the pitch) as Messi. Just that along the timelines I think if he were playing in a modern team with modern all round fitness levels et al he wouldn't be as far ahead of others as he was back then. Still one of the best though.

Said it a few days a go but my best ever 3 would be Messi > Zidane > Maradona :)....Lets go for 4? > Lallana ;)

    Pele, Messi, Maradonna

For me, Maradonna would be at the bottom of any list of greats. Being a great means one has to be the complete player.
