"I must look at players like Kevin De Bruyne. If a player is good maybe club is problem. Was he a defender? Am I a defender? He leaves and now he is one of the best at what he does... There is no point hiring Da Vinci and asking him to paint your garage. I have to think about this."

    Very damning.

I'm not sure that the Da Vinci analogy is apt on Pedro's case, but for sure Maureen likes a certain type of player, and if you don't buy into his playing philosophy, you're not going to like it.

De Bruyne is a class player. So, was Mata - couldn't believe it when he let Mata go, especially to an English rival!

So far his success has kept his critics at bay, but now he's down they're lining up to kick him. We used to have a saying in my old line of business, "Always be nice to people on your way up, because chances are you'll be meeting some of them again on your way down!"

"This is a lot harder than just passing the ball to Messi all the time. Players try to tackle me and everything." - Pedro. Possibly...

"At Barca it was different. OK I couldn't get in the team but we won everything. Here at Chelsea I can't get in the team and we lose a lot. If I'm not playing I want to be a winner. I also don't understand the nickname the other players have given me. What is a Cuadrado?"

"At Barca I could sit on the bench and collect medals. In England you have to play and sometimes even play in the rain, add to that I don't get medals. I do believe my agent is a ****er and I've been ****ed right over"

205? What calendar are you using? You know that the clocks only went back an hour the other night, right?

The calendar that rightly acknowledges that Johann Strauss II, was in fact the real messiah and measures years from his birth.

"I don't understand why John has to **** my wife and why he said I was a lazy Spanish ****. What is a Peado ? I only want to bide my time and sit on the bench and collect my €200,000 per week, and wait till I can go back to Spain. It's not my fault that my agent takes a backhander to not let me join Midchester City and that Chelsea will sell me on for half what they paid. I just want to go home now". Pedro 29/10/15

Are you referring to the computer game Elite ? My brother had that on his BBC computer. That must have been 1983/84 ?

Yep. It's been remade repeatedly and given numerous sequels, including a current one.
They've all kept The Blue Danube as the music that plays when you turn on your docking computer.
    Here's the latest version:

Changed a little from the BBC days.

    It's a nod to Kubrick's 2001, obviously.

Crikey, that's a bit different from the floating polygons that I remember.

And Kubrick's masterpiece is as timeless as the game it seems.
