Make that Italy. One of those times when you hit post at exactly the same time you have made a ba**s up.
£6M for a 17 year old defender? Is a position where experience matters a so is a lot to spend on someone that won't be ready for another decade.
Well I must admit I was surprised when I seen he was only 17. I thought he was going to be a vrey good, say, 26 year old who has alot of experience in Serie A. End of the day it ain´t my money & he may be one for the future. I just hope he ain´t going to get ****ed off at not playing that much & leaves for, say, 2 mill in the summer. From 140,000 to 6.6 doesn´t mean he´s that good mind. Sampdoria just may be taking the p*** & saying "hands off or pay ott."
So more than a million pounds per first team match hes played?! i don't think so! It is a position that can probably accommodate a younger player, like we toyed with Chilwell at LB, but he'd still haveto be good enough. Could be the next Kyle Naughton for us
Chilwell could be a different story, every man and his dog seems to be after him. I sincerely hope we keep him and he kicks on like we all do. Chillwell on one side and Periera on the other for the next five seasons sounds good to me.
One thing that we need to consider is that if we are in the Champions League there are rules about homegrown players - Man City fell afoul of them and have to play with a smaller squad. The FA should such rules here but they are too busy counting their backhanders.
We currently have Schmeichel, Drinkwater, Morgan, Huth, James, Vardy, King, Albrighton, Hamer, Schlupp, Simpson and Dyer (on loan)
