Okay, Colback has now staked his claim against Newcastle for a starting midfield role.

I think with that performance he goes above, Vaughan, Gardner and Larrson. However does it put him above Ki? He is very similar to Cattermole, to be honest I'd put these two on a par. Cattermole a better tackler but Colback better on the ball. Do we play both or alternate. Is Ki played in a three man midfield with a striker dropped?

The wings, okay we have Johnson, giacc, larrson, borini as well as the young lads. Borini has staked a claim, larrson looks much better on the flanks but giacc has been about our best player. Should he be dropped? I thought Johnson looked good against the mags should he be dropped?

Up front, do you play borini up here? Do you play a lone striker? Especially away from home? Personally I think Altidore and fletcher should both start as they were very good against a depleted mags defence.

Lots of choice and selection headaches for Gus considering he doesn't fully know his squad yet!

Also I believe Young Duncan deserves a call up to the squad.

Vaughan has just signed for Forest on loan.
I'd play Catts and Colback together with AJ and Giacc on the wings and I'm stuck on wether to play Fletch and Altidore up front together or play Ki just behind Fletch. ???????

Think it will depend on the job in hand who'll play. It's a squad game and I expect the squad to be used across the season.

    That looks sound to me.

I'd be happy to see Colback and Giacc switching around, during the game, to pull defenders around ...... AJ needs some back up from the full back so he can play higher up the pitch.

The midfield is slowly starting to click in my opinion.

I'd drop Johnson and play Giacherinni and Borini either side of Altidore and Fletcher in a very attacking formation. I think our back 4 from Sunday with Catts and Colback in front of them will be a very solid base to be much more attacking and go on the front foot. Larsson and Johnson would be used as better options later to either close it down or step it up and AJ could do with a little 'nudge' by being 'rested'.

What's happened to Celutska? He was doing really well before, he just fallen down the pecking order to get Bardo in to appease the rest of the team so they calm the **** down, and play football instead of throwing their toys out of the pram?

Like the look of that except for OShea - I'll never be convinced by him now.

Also agree with the midfield comments - its not a midfield thats gonna be pushed around and bullied! PDC wanted some english players signed up. He had 2 and didnt use them properly!

But Catts PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! No more red cards!!!

Fitting Borini in will be tricky, but we know what he can do know and he seems really hungry for it.

I'd play Catts and Jack together though <ok>

Won't find me disagreeing, although McBardo certainly put in a shift against the mags. He still owes us for the Fulham crack though.
