Commentater on Football League Show described us as Nigel Worthington's team, and somehow managed to make it look like West Ham matched us in the first half.
I heard that too. Have to say, you guys looked unlucky today. If those highlights were anything to go by, West Ham scored both their opportunities and you guys had tons of chances. Interesting to hear Claridge say that Pearson "...OBVIOUSLY doesn't want to rule himself out...".
I thought they gave a pretty good account of us, in fact when watching it I was even more annoyed than when seeing it live that we didn't win with so many more chances than them.
In their defence, I posted it straight after I heard the Worthington comment so I hadn't realised they were saving the rest of our chances to talk about Green in the analysis. Still though, no sign of that tackle from behind on McLean 3 yards from the linesman, who was about 10-15 yards nearer the incident than the ball was.
Posted this on another thread as soon as e said it. Thought we were great today can't believe we didn't get anything fromthe game but west ham defended excellently and rob green showed exactly why he's an England keeper. Top class, if only he played like that at the world cup.
I thought Nolan's in the first 10 minutes on Evans was the worst (though I can't remember the one you're referring to), he could have gone for that. It was way off the ball, he came in from the complete wrong side to get the ball and just cut him in two, he just wanted to wipe someone out early on.
Well the rest was along the lines of Pearson doesn't want to piss the Hull fans off by saying he's interested in the Leicester job, but then doesn't get it.
If you're thinking of the one Nolan got booked for it was malicious and it was trying to get back for the one on him not long before it. At least with that one he got booked and we got the free kick, for the McLean one the ****ing hammers in black didn't even acknowledge it happened, it was like playing FIFA with the fouls turned off.
What Nigel Pearson wants right now is to get on with his job, he's already told the squad he is going nowhere. If an approach comes in (which it may or may not do) what Nigel Pearson wants is for his employers to show faith in him by refusing you permission to speak to him. That is what Milan Mandaric did not do and it is what our owners WILL do. THAT is the truth no matter what desperate seeds of doubt you try to spread. You see the VERY bottom line is that even if he wasn't happy here he has a contract with us and our owners think the world of him. If they say you may not talk to him THATS THE ABSOLUTE END OF IT. And don't kid yourself that contracts mean nothing, that may be true with players but it aint with managers. You like holding up Stringer as being a reliable source. Here is our equivalent from the BBC (Matt Dean) on twitter: @HumbersideSport has spoken to @hullcityteam owner Assem Allam tonight regarding Nigel Pearson's position: "He's a very good manager and we don't want to lose him. There's been no approach from #leicestercity ". @HumbersideSport @hullcityteam
We know there's been no approach yet. But it is definitely imminent. Regarding your chairman refusing contact, this is possible, but Pearson will not appreciate this. This would leave to distention in the club which will filter down to the team. Your board will know this, and if they are grateful for Pearson's work, they will allow him contact. Then it will be fingers crossed for you that he decides against the move.
That doesn't quite fit with history though. I don't know how much you followed Pearson's story after he quit your place, but he basically didn't want to leave, didn't expect to leave, and was stunned when we asked to speak to him. He was even more stunned when Mandaric said yes and that made him feel he was persona non grata in Leicester, and that's why he's here. If he wants to go to Leicester and has spoken to Papa Allam, then I would imagine we would allow him to speak to you - like you say, there's no benefit to be had in having someone who doesn't want to be there. There is nothing to suggest he has asked for a move, or is encouraging one. In which case, experience will lead our board to do exactly what your board didn't. We will simply refuse permission. Unless I'm very much mistaken, it was this consortium coming in that didn't want Nigel in the first place wasn't it?
That's rubbish. Nigel Pearson is the ultimate professional. Listen to what the said on the radio today. He'll be kept fully in the loop as to what is going on and he will simply get on with his job. You seem to have conveniently forgotten what happened when he left you in the first place. Did he not stat that he was surprised that Mandaric allowed him to talk to us? Pearson has build his own squad here. A young and talented squad. He has told these young lads he is going nowhere, and that is what will happen because he doesn't want to.
I don't think anyone has said that. Pearson didn't get on with our Chief Exec Lee Hoos and I don't think he was very popular with Mandaric either. Leicester were in the process of being taken over when Pearson was almost out of contract, Hull knew this and came in. Pearson tried to use this to get an improved contract, which in fairness he deserved after two great season, but Mandy just said "go then". I think Mandaric probably did think the new owners would want their own manager as well, as seems to be usual these days. Hoos and Mandy are both gone now, which would certainly make us more appealing. It's going to be a tough decision for Pearson, and if he really is our no. 1 target, I think it could go either way.
We didn't just allow him contact. We allowed him to go without any fight. I don't know what he's told the squad and I'm yet to see this as a quote from any reliable source,if you can provide, I'd appreciate it.
True, though you still haven't actually spoken to him and he hasn't yet resigned. Even his meeting with club members at the KC tomorrow night hasn't been cancelled yet. You'd expect that something would have happened by now.
I agree with you OLM, Where are the OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENTS both from hull and Leicester about the situation?? Untill we hear anything OFFICIAL from the clubs its all media hype! ITs going to be interesting if the meeting with the club members does go ahead tommorow to see who turns up!
