I am a fan of big Nige before people say otherwise but tonight i think his decision making was poor at best. To bring Barmby on for Adebola up front was not the right decision and to let Adebola start the half in the first place was a mistake as he came onto the pitch limping! For me Simpson should have been introduced way before he was. I mean what impact can you expect from someone being on the field for 5 minutes? For me Big Nige got the key decisions wrong tonight but its one game in a long season so i arn't too worried lets hope he gets them practicing finishing this week!

I'm guessing Simpson will start from now on. I can't see Barmby doing anything to break in and he can't play a full match anyway.

I agree with you let's not get too down about the result, at least we created something and there's an indication of some attacking play. Just hope Stewart is fit soon.

I don't get this. Barmby came on and changed the game, seemed strange at the time but it worked.

Simpson only came on so late because that is when we went behind. "What was he supposeed to do in 5 minutes?" Score that sitter. He failed in that and everyone is moaning he didn't come on earlier.

Who partnered Fryatt is a decision I said before the game I didn't have any opinion on, and I wouldn't complain whoever he picked. Everyone's got it in their head that Adebola definitely can't start games but NP clearly knows he can. He didn't get any service first half today so I don't think we can judge him.

I do agree with you though that it was stupid Ade coming out for the second half, later than everyone else and with a massive limp, and had to go off a minute later. hy the **** wasn't this picked up on at half time?

I'm guessing Simpson wasn't fully fit otherwise he would have started or at least come on instead of Barmby. He was thrown on in the last 10 minutes to try and salvage something from a game that we should have had in the bag long before but we never....that's football for you, the better team doesn't always win...just like Swansea on the first day of last season if you're looking for omens!

My Mam said she was quite impressed with Adebola. I didn't see the first half so I cannot comment.

Can't say I was. He was as slow as I anticipated but I hoped he'd make up for it with some strength and his ability to win headers. Can't say I remember him winning a single one.
