Hey folks, here i am excited for the new season as im sure eventually the foxes will regain premiership status. I doubt however we can sustain a automatic spot so im going for 5th in the league. So the point. How has pearson done in the market compared with other clubs? Why have we spent peanuts? Dont we want to challenge for the title?
I don't predict... but... the man knows what he is doing, whether you like him or not...all his signings are winners IMO....depending on luck....injuries, decisions etc...we will be there or there abouts....pearson only spends what he needs to, I have very little doubt there is plenty of money in the kitty...people knocking sven must remember ...he had a remit.. to get up as soon as possible, money no object...so what was the man expected to do? he followed the owners orders, it turned into a bit of a circus...then the owners wised up and realised there was no quick fix or magic bullet...now we are back on track...
We havent peanuts Vardy, James, De Laet, Futacs and Knockaert all cost a fee. I reckon they cost around the 4M mark. Nigel also spent around 3M on Wes Morgan, Danny Drinkwater and Ben Marshall in January. We was never going to spend as much as last summer because Nigel doesnt operate that way I think its more Nigel not wanting to blow millions rather then a smaller budget
I think its so we change our ethic and are no longer a club who are held to randsom over price. For all we know Knockeart could have cost £9m, but we dotn know, its the way pearson does things. Im glad. He didnt spend much on Chester or Hobbs, and look at their values now.
Pearson is defiantly a manager that can make money on signings, im surprised that Bates hasn't signed him at Leeds tbh
I think its apparant NP knew exactly what type of player he needed to bring into the club and has gone about it quickly and quietly which can only be a good thing. The squad at the start of this season has a lot more balance to it than this time last year
We past year we had 7 midfielders and 1 winger. This year we have 3 wingers and 5 midfielders. Alot more balance across the middle
I'd say 4 wingers of which 2 of them can play off the striker(s) too. Could potentially see Waghorn and Schlupp used out wide throughout the season also
^ i hope not - they are strikers. Would be so easy to waste Schlupp. I would like to see him as our main striker this season i think, but if not i think he has to be loaned out.
He was at left back against Sunderland. Hope he doesn't get moved around his year. I'd like to see him stay up top.
It is so easy to put pacey strikers as wingers but it ruins them - particularly young ones. They lose their striking intuition. JS is one of the best prospects in years and i dont want to see that ruined. How many strikers have successfully converted to wingers? Kuyt maybe, but he was a little sh*te. Please dont let his happen.
Strikers as wingers? I remember Gary Lineker starting his career as a left winger The rest is history
Yes, and i was going to write about that. However, my argument is strikers to wingers, not the other way round. A few have been converted that way.
