I’d be happy with Pearson if I’m honest. We need that sort of arrogance although if we can do a deal for Cook I think that would be even better.

Can I ask why you believe clough might 'work'?
He ventured out of his burton comfort zone once before and the outcome was at best ordinary.
I believe so much faith is invested in him because of who is father was.
He is an odious man but barton has done more for Fleetwood in a far shorter time and with similar if not slightly less resources.
I'd be far more confident of barton succeeding than clough and I would go as far as to say he would be above pearson, cook ainsworth and parkinson in my list.

To be honest I'm not really going to defend Clough, I agree that his record is average. He's not my choice for the role, just probably my preference on that underwhelming list.

Barton is an absolute non starter though as far as I'm concerned. Odious is an understatement and this club has been through enough turmoil with the questionable characters it has employed.

Stendel would be my choice based on what realistic options I've seen available.

I agree re barton and his podium.
If it were purely on football management ability however...

i think phil will be ok, but NOT Mclaren or Barton. I haven't applied by the way so don't worry. i would rather invest. i see Coventry copped it today with their "easy desition to make, not going to SAFC !) manager, they were woeful against Tranmere today.

If Joey is found guilty would he be able to manage us by phone from his cell , gives a whole new meaning to cellphone.

If Pearson gets us up Im OK with that

In fact if we appoint Merlin and he acheives promotion I'll be quite happy.

Will worry about what happens in Championship after we have achieved this feat!!

<cheers>

Good time to get a good manager in, there's a few knocking around at the minute

Hopefully Stu won't make the new guy's job any harder and we can crack on
