Temporary England boss Pearce given final call on Terry involvement against Holland By BOB CASS Last updated at 10:30 PM on 18th February 2012 Comments (0) Share Stuart Pearce has been assured he will not be put under pressure by his Football Association employers over the biggest decision he faces in naming his squad for Englandâs friendly against Holland at Wembley on February 29. Pearce, in temporary charge of the team after manager Fabio Capelloâs resignation, will name his squad on Thursday. And his toughest decision will be whether to choose John Terry alongside Rio Ferdinand at the centre of his defence. Doing the rounds: Temporary England boss Stuart Pearce will be in charge against Holland at Wembley at the end of February Normally, both would be automatic choices. But, while Ferdinand has figured prominently in Manchester Unitedâs recent games, Terry has missed Chelseaâs last four because of injury. That may give Pearce the excuse not to pick the Chelsea captain, so avoiding the potential embarrassment of Terry lining up alongside the man whose younger brother, QPR defender Anton Ferdinand, he has been accused of racially abusing. Capello resigned as England manager on February 8 over the FAâs decision to strip Terry of the captaincy while he defends himself against the charge, which he has consistently denied. Uncertain times: John Terry has missed Chelsea's last four games with injury While the FAâs insistence that Terry could not continue as England captain was central to Capelloâs decision to quit in the run-up to Euro 2012, Pearce will be given a free hand to choose his squad. Pearce will have an all-English backroom team around him for the visit of Holland, after turning to goalkeeping legend Ray Clemence and under-21s coach Steve Wigley to assist him. The case against Terry will be heard on July 9. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ision-Stuart-Pearce-say-FA.html#ixzz1mmGONnPL
