http://www.leeds.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=255747 Interesting that Grayson sees McCormack & Keogh as one & two I doubt there keep Becchio out of the team for too long! I reckon Paynter is off to Brighton & we will tie the deal up after the Elland road meet. Also do you remember the last time Poyett was at Elland Road? Had a bit of a row with Snodin so no love lost there!
He may go out on loan to give him game time. Hopefully it'll have the same effect as others who have gone out on loan - Beckford, Nunez, Lees, & Clayton to name but a few. Still think when he gets his confidence back, he'll be a real handful. As to whether he stays longer term, this will depend on whether or not we keep Keogh & Forsell beyond their current agreements/contracts.
Thing is Boggers the players you listed above were in need of experience & game time. Paynter has bags of that & just isnt up to the calabre of strikers we have in Shocking signing & I knew he wouldnt make an impact. Quicker he is off the wage bill the better although I wish the lad all the best, he is out of his deph.
Bucks, Paynter has some experience, but not that much. He needs lots of game time. I think when he gets it, we'll really see what he can do. He's barely had any sort of a run since arriving. So I think many on here may still be a bit too quick to judge. That said, he hasn't helped his cause. A bit like Torres when he went to Chelski. Not quite as good, it has to be said. But both just need game time.
Didnt he have a run of about 10 games for us last season ? He totalled 23 matches so I would say that one goal against a club that are now plying there trade from the league he established himself in shows he is not up to the standard required IMO. Also he had 13 stinkers for Hull in the championship totaling 0 goals. Of course this is just my view & thats the beauty of these boards
He's utter ****e, you should all be jumping for joy at news of his probable departure. I rate Poyet, I can't really believe he actually wants him at Brighton.
When Swindon failed to make promotion everyone knew a big part of their success was their strikeforce of Paynter and Austin. Leeds made the typical move of going for the free one with less risk if it didn't/doesn't payoff. For a team initially looking to avoid relegation i thought he was a good signing and no one fully knew how Becchio was going to adjust to the higher level. Becchio turned out to be our most consistent performer which didn't do Paynter any favours.
Paytner isn't good enough, he will never be good enough and I still can't believe we didn't let him go on deadline day.
Original, that Poyet who I think we all agree really knows what he's doing should tell us something. If we let Paynter go rather than just send him out on loan, I really think we'll live to regret it. Send him out on loan certainly, but don't sell him just yet a while.
Billy paynter is a good player to have,he`ll give his all, what more can you ask(ability maybe?) His injury last year put the mockers on his Leeds career, hey if we get relegated we have a star striker, sorted?
Nah, Paynter will be a dud buy for him unless their season goes to hell and they go back down. But they won't, they got a real shot at going up.
