This seems to be what Fernandes is saying to any fans who choose to criticise Hughes. I'm getting a tad pissed off with him! As I said on another thread, my season ticket money alone entitles me to be an "armchair critic" as much as I choose. Stop digging at us fans Tony and start thinking about what you're going to do IF Hughes can't turn this mess around!!
Apologies if anyone is very pro-Hughes but I personally think Hughes sacking is imminent unless bar a win v Everton on Saturday. I think Fernandes wants to be seen to be backing Hughes so if/when the time does come to change direction Fernandes can hold his hands up and say "I tried". It's just my opinion but the same thing happened with us under AVB and Scolari. The more Fernandes backs Hughes, the less criticism he will get when the time eventually comes to move on. Fernandes strikes me as a passionate man who genuinely cares about the club so I don't think he is intentionally trying to hurt the fans.
I don't think he's denying your right to criticise but for now it sits against his vision whereas Hughes isn't. The weight of fans views will have registered in the back of his mind though and I'm sure he'll have a point where plan B (probably already formulating) becomes necessary if things haven't turned. If I was faced with thousands of comments that didn't fit my view, I might be a bit short in my replies. Also shows he's feeling the pressure of backing his conviction. I think Hughes will turn it round (perhaps blindly). Still think we have a shout against Everton and my toffee mate (sounds like fake sugar) reckons their physio has ruled Fellaini out.
Yes..... If and WHEN (I would prefer to stick to the WHEN rather than if) Hughes does sacked, we will found out about the details of his sacking clause. Obviously, for Fernandes to be backing him this much, big money was involved when he signed on - thanks to the evil dealings of the Agent. But - I have to disagree that the criticism directed at him would be less - I think it will be even more, for wasting everybody's time as well as his own! He will be made to look a right twat. Either way, we all want success. The question is whether Hughes actually has a clue. Fernandes can say all he wants, but Hughes couldn't put it together at Citeh, and he had far better players while he was there. And yet Mancini was able to turn it around with most of the players that Hughes left behind, without Robinho! So lets see. But it would be nice of Fernandes to not call his own fans "armchair critics." That was a terrible move on his part.
Yappy agree with you on all but one thing. I don't think he'd get more criticism if he waited a bit longer. Had AVB been sacked in January (as many including myself wanted) or Dalglish been sacked in March I'm pretty sure those clubs respectively would have come in for more criticism. Hughes may well not be sacked yet so I hate to jump the gun here but if he is he will need enough time to convince the majority of fans that it is the right decision. I'm not sure if the majority want Hughes out or not, I guess as a QPR fan yourself your in a far better position than me to judge
TF is fast realising how difficult it is to run a football club in the EPL. From delusions of grandeur 3 months ago to bottom of the table reality. He'll be embarrassed no doubt and his resolve is being tested to the limit. Rather than being the reassuring chairman/owner that we expected of him, he's shown through these tweets and interviews that he is not a true fan of the club and he knows bugger all about football. The guy's been in the game for a little over a year! For his sake I hope MH turns it around for him otherwise it could get very ugly. And I'm sure he's running out of straws to clutch.
he's having as much luck with us as he is with his motor racing team,at least we have 2 more points than caterham
I agree with Fernandes. I think everything is in place ready to take off. When it does all this talk of relegation and Hughes getting sacked will be firmly on the back-burner. Of course things haven't as yet gone according to plan, but they will. This is QPR. We've never had it so good. We're still in a better position than we have been for fifteen or sixteen years or even currently at least six or seven other clubs. It will all come good, sooner rather than later. Trust me, this will happen. Prepare yourselves for some great ( I was there ) moments down the bush.
If you keep telling yourselves it's gonna be ok how far down the line does that go? 7 and counting at the moment, Reading is 10 perhaps that will be the KO. Sadly, with our suspect defence I fear MH knows his days are numbered...
i am with you on this one mate and i do hope you are right. i have been a qpr fan now for about twenty two years and i thin k this is the best squad/team we have ever had. i am sure it will come.
I posted this to get some reaction and there have been some really good posts. For the record.....I want Hughes to turn things around as I don't want all the unrest of another sacking. However, Hughes gives the impression of being very stubborn and that could be his downfall. I sincerely hope that all the people saying that everything will be ok are right (starting Sunday!!).
Good to have you back Nines (the positive glass half full Nines ). Just like last season, we will come good (under Hughes).
I don't see it as Fernandes saying 'don't criticise Hughes'. I see it as 'don't go massively over the top every time something bad happens and tweet me a million ****ing times demanding the manager goes when we've only played seven games and it will cost me, not you, millions to do what you want me to'
