Apparently suffered a heart attack. So young for someone who must have been extremely fit for most of his life.

especially when others of us are in far worse shape and older than 47, this lad looked after himself.

But a heart has only so many beats in it, his was obviously problematic, he may have lived longer if he didn;t work it so hard who knows.

    RIP

Yeah and sudden adult death is like this. You get fit young lads literally eating their own heart muscle cos their body has no reserves left.

I think personally we were designed to gorge and then store fat not run about with zero fat and six packs. Gorge then survive til next gorging. Our problem is gerrez has the next gorging an hour after the last not days.

    You're prob spot on.

I think I am meant to hibernate for winter, My moods darken in winter, esepcially when the sunlight goes in the short months. <grr>

Getting fat and sleeping for 3 months, what's not to like <laugh>

You need to get that dog, Sis. I have an image of Finland having tons of forest and countryside (even close to the urban areas). I know you've said you live in an apartment, so maybe that would be a problem. But a lab or a collie will play with the kids all day long - much better than plonking them in front of the telly.

And it gives you discipline to go out and get fresh air for one or two hours a day. Do you have an eqivilant of an RSPCA in Finland? You could maybe try out walking dogs with the family. Kids will love it - you might too!!!

I am surrounded by Forest, I have that seasonal disorder mate. Besides I have a 3 and 5 year old, they are always outdoors with me, kids play in all weather here, snow rain sun you name it. Strange at first to see 6 year old kids with unmbrellas out playing in pissing rain, but its normal here

If I look out my window now there is 70ft pines and a huge area of summer cottages, trails, public open air gyms made of logs and metal and a man made beach not 5 minutes walk.

It's the seasonal disorder thingy, I still get out. I train Brazilian Jujitsu twice a week too and go swimming. Or should I say, I get owned by 20 year olds twice a week <laugh>

In a month I go to the arctic circle which will be pretty intensive and then to Spitsbergen on the Svalbard archipelago in northern Norway, Chrimbo present from the Mrs, I love that cold **** :D I tried to get a boat trip to Nordauslandlet from Spitzberg but, unless you can fund the whole trip you need to get onto an existing one if you wanna do it expedition style, there are other cheaper boat trips but little opportunity for a trek on them.

    Either way, intensive winter hollidays.

Finland has trees and nature everywhere mate as you say. Doesn't help my seasonal disorder, though the upcomming adventure will no doubt lift the cloud as it were, looking forward to it. I don't get it that bad, many here have it far worse than I do, suicide rates are pretty high here.

Envy you that, it sounds fabulous. Keep an eye out for the killer whales, though I'm not sure if they'll be about in January.. Polar bears? Or will they still be hibernating then?
