Paulo is still young and has made a massive step up from essentially having no club when we took him to being in the premier league in just over a year. Let's face it too the defence isn't that great in front of him and that's why all 3 keepers have struggled so far. On the plus side for him, before Saturday, Saints' only wins had come with Gazza in the team. I doubt anyone expected him to have had as much game time as he has had so far this season. The boy needs and thankfully has time on his side. He will learn, get better and do better.

The actual flow chart, in my mind, shows the problem. Essentially they're saying make a mistake you get replaced so they keep changing the goal keeper. You'd need a squad the size of a small nation if you replaced every player every time they made a mistake. Unless i've missed something and no other Saints player ever makes a mistake. Goalkeepers need time in goal to "get their eye in" so to speak.

Best of luck to the lad.

On Saturday before the matches kicked off it was indicated by a pundit on SKY that it seemed a bit unfair if Gazza kept his place in goal. It was said the previous keeper despite making mistakes did not make two howlers on the level of Paulo's, if the previous keeper got left out because of errors then he should rightly be asking questions of Gazzaniga, which were far worse.

These are not my words/views and not a precise recollection of what was said but near enough.

Obviously Gazza was a favourite of mine and I wish him all the best.

Absolutely. It is as if the Saints fans expected an instant solution. At our level he was.........

When Saints bought Gazza, they bought potential rather than a finished product. He looked good at League 2 level but he was obviously a risk taker and this was bound to get exposed at a higher level. The real point is that Gazza is 20, Boruc is 32 and Davies is 36. Who is going to improve? Who is going to benefit from the first team experience? Its a no-brainer.

age old thing that does rile me up at time is noone knows whats going on in training!! yes to be fair if you make 2 howlers you are normally pulled from the starting 11 but lets not forget the other goalies havent exactly been keeping clean sheets either!
