I fully respect the hard work refs do and know it's not an easy job... And I don't think clubs have the right to pick and chose who referees their games... But there is certainly enough doubt about Tierney that the PL should recognize that he shouldn't officiate any more Liverpool games for a while.
Just because he has a poster of Rooney on his bedroom wall and wears Ryan Giggs pajamas at night doesn't mean he's biased.
The whole thing and the little pgmol gang need binning for something better. Var doesn't work here like other European leagues cos this little cartel use it to protect each other from scrutiny.
exactly. You’d think that PGMOL would like to ease tensions and get out of the spotlight but no, they continue to make these daft choices. not only that, they thought it was a good idea to give the Villa game to the same official that Klopp shouted at previously, which led to the ban!
klopps own fault every step of the way. you whinge, shout, berate any officials and guess what they line up to pay back.
managers are human. They say and do things in the heat of the moment. refs are supposed to be objective
Yeah but refs are human too, allegedly, and subtle biases can be just as much a manifestation of emotions as manically jumping up and down on the touchline. I said a while back Tierney should be kept well away from our games for a while (it could be done unofficially) just in order to defuse the situation.
There was no situation, Tierney did his job and Klopp lost his ****. Maybe Liverpool should have kept Klopp away from the game?. You can't change a ref just because a manager doesn't like him, if both managers complain there may be a legitimate call.
If there's a perception of bias then only one side would feel aggrieved, wouldn't they? If both were unhappy that would be a different criticism. I've said before that I don't think refs in general are biased against LFC, but there's a definite perception that Tierney is. Either way, there is obviously an issue between him and Klopp, and regardless of who is in the right it can lead to a clash of wills that can upset the objectivity of the ref because, as I said, he too is human and not immune to such things. Sensible management would be to get them together and have a meeting to clear the air and try to understand one another better, but as the authorities are rarely sensible then the next best thing imo is to keep them apart for a while. I don't like Tierney, but neither am I defending Klopp who oversteps the mark frequently. I'm merely suggesting a pragmatic solution to a problem. It's bad management to allow an escalation of an issue like this.
Ftr both managers lost their **** in that game Both managers complained about Tierney in that game Only one manager was charged Only one managers rant was publicised Just sayin
