http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28875739 I agree with him, i'm worried that we won't get top 4 this season. We have to make more signings before the end of the transfer window or risk another season without champions league.
I agree that we will have a period of turbulence and uncertainty. I am one of the few who predicted that when Fergie left. The heading for obscurity is just sensationalism. Obscurity is terms of what? newspaper headlines? CL? title challenge? The reality is that if LVG does not hack it (like Moyes) United will get a new one. And United will (or should) keep spending big. So sooner or later it will click into place and the old machine will be back. I have seen it in the 70s and 80s (giving away my age here ! ) and lets hope it is sooner. I think it was a ****ing RS who memorably said in the 80s: " God help us if and when United get things right". OK things are different now but money and power counts. The total domination may not happen but the challenges for the titles will come.
Scholes has become a rent a quote. Must be because he was quiet as a player and now has a lot to say.
I wouldn't worry MattH. If you win your game this weekend you should win the league, the FA Cup and the Europa league too! Providing of course you don't lose the game the weekend after that- because then you're going to get relegated.
Yet he's been spot on with everything he has said. Just like when Keano has said for the past 14 months or so that your players aren't good enough
Bit of an overreaction in my view by Scholes, Manu have some injuries which are throwing things a tad, I'm sure they will bounce back after being humbled by the mighty Swans!………..
I do fear for Utd. Not because you have bad tean, far from it. But because I think the LVG factor has glossed over the fact that they have a weak squad full of average players. Rooney, Mata and RVP can only do so much when the other half of the pitch is mid table at best. As a Newcastle fan, Ive seen a team drop from challenging all the way to the championship. Utd wont go the same way, however I cant see a squad filled with Young, Cleverly, Valencia, Smalling, Jones and Evans troubling the Champs League places. One season from the "top table" is a bad season. Two seasons - becomes a problem.
