Didn't you know, it isn't all about size..? At least we are long and slim compared to Chelsea who's short and fat. Still a couple of teams that have smaller pitches than us, and six teams who has the same or shorter pitch lengths. 1. Manchester City, City of Manchester Stadium, 116 x 77 yards, 8932 2. Manchester United, Old Trafford, 116 x 76 yards, 8816 3. Everton, Goodison Park, 112 x 78 yards, 8736 4. Newcastle United, St. James’s Park, 115 Ã 74.4 yards, 8556 5. West Ham United, Boleyn Ground, 110 x 70 yards, 7700
A couple of yards doesnt make any difference to the play, its all psychological that the away team think they have less time than they really do. Its not like theyre playing on a pub pitch.
dont understand how someone who played so many great games on our pitch can say its smaller. I like PP & he is one of my all time favourite QPR players but, I wish he would keep his mouth shut !
Former Manchester United full-back Paul Parker has admitted that the club's current players may struggle to break Queens Park Rangers down at the weekend. What like last season? I was there that day when Eric scored that 412th minute goal. I lost it that day, absolutly gutted and to top it off at the final whistle i had 2 plastic Foreign Utds fans sitting behind me giving it large. Well lets just say giving it large for about 10 secs? Anyway as i was getting escorted out i was thinking 's##t we could go down'? i went to the Coventry with the other 7K R's fans a week later ( i think it was 7k and think it was a week later? My memory is going). And i remember that 'Jess' muppeting scoring. On the way out it got a bit fiesty with the Cov lads and as i got on the coach home i thought 's##t we could go down'?. The rest is history. Anyway what i am saying is does this feel like it did in 96 or am i drinking too much?
Many people said that Paul Parker was too small, but he didn't let that hold him back; I'm surprised that he is sizeist.
Not at all mate. This is much worse than '96. I'm sure we had two or three times the amount of wins at the same stage that season as we do now. That's how bad we've been this year. Worse than the Mark Hateley team!
I fear that your correct swords. Wouldn't mind seeing the stats to see how they compare to our fatal '96 season.
Andy is right, it's a myth our pitch ain't small at all, anyone who has been to our ground knows that, or have you been sitting in the away end with your chelski pals yappy Ps did you meet swords !!
Away team always seem to have plenty of room..... Does surprise me that Arsenal didn't go for the biggest pitch possible.
I never said it didnt, our pitch is only 2 yards different from the Emirates which will have no effect on play. Players would say the difference is a lot more because our stands are much closer. That has more effect as players at other grounds dont have to worry about going into the stands, at LR they have to start slowing down 5 yards infield. That has more effect that size.
I once had to to play a full 11 a side game inside a shed because it was raining ... it was a nightmare ...goalless draw
