Paul Murray, the man who is putting together a potential Blue Knights rescue package, made it clear to them in talks over the weekend that he would prefer to pick up a £4.3m tab in unpaid wages than be left to foot the bill for a wholescale rebuild in the summer transfer market.

Sackings We understand that players' union chief Fraser Wishart has also pointed out to Duff and Phelps he believes potential buyers such as Murray could be forced to drop their interest if the bill for saving the club is forced through the roof by a raft of player sackings.

One man hoping for sense to prevail is former director Murray, who knows his plan to save the club from the clutches of Whyte could be severely hindered if the wrong moves are made today.

Last night Murray said: "From my point of view, as a bidder, I want the squad to stay intact. That's my starting point".

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I was interested in buying a failed business I would obviously prefer it if the most valuable assets were handed to me on a plate for a knock down price.

What sort of businessman is Paul Murray? Does he seriously think that the Administrators should neglect their duties just to suit him and his potential/maybe/could happen takeover of Rangers?

It's ****ing laughable, besides, although Murray "would prefer to pick up a £4.3m tab in unpaid wages" it's not an option, the administrators job is to save money and CUT COSTS.

By "deferring" wages to an unspecified "later date" - as Murray and others seem to be suggesting - the administrators would simply be adding to an already growing debt, that is not something they have the power to do.

I would have thought Murray would have known this or at least checked before sounding off and looking like an amateur bam.

He's spouting off in the media to say what the fans want to hear. He was placed to save the club when they were apparently in a better place than they are now, and didn't. You are spot on, what he wants is the clubs debts to be sorted for him, someone else to get the blame for the pain in doing so, and him pick up the club for zero, spend a wee bit looking like the hero and sell for a profit.

If he was serious he'd give the administrators the money needed to see the club through. To me he is all talk. He was in a position to scrutinise whyte before and failed.

The irony is he wants the Club for no cost, little did he know he could have got it for a pound last may

I tried an IQ thingy on line once.

I got 126 which was above average. That'll do me. If you're too intelligent you can be predisposed to mental frailties
