No I've not heard he's leaving.

Just a thought. It's looking like Billy Davies could be our next manager.
If that's the case then Paul McKenna could play a massive part in pouring oil on troubled waters.

A lot of the players may be feeling a bit narked off and unsettled with all that's going on. Barmby was well liked and his sacking doesn't look that popular amongst the players. I'm basing that on what Rosey came out with the other night.

Equally they could be apprehensive about a new manager coming in and if Davies does replace NB it looks like he could have a ready made ally in PM.

He played for Davies at PNE and unless I'm mistaken Davies signed him when he was at Forest and made him skipper.
I know assumption is the mother of all **** ups but with that history I'm guessing they get on. It certainly looks like Davies rates him very highly.

I've met McKenna a few times and he's a really down to earth, likeable bloke.
A few words of reassurance from
PM to the rest of the boys might just ease a few concerns some of the squad may have.

Saying that he might think Davies is a tool and my theory is a load of nonsense.

    UTT.

I said the same. I read an article in which Davies sang his priases and said if McKenna had been taller he'd have played most of his career in the top flight

He can get away with saying that with being a short arse himself.

I reckon PM could be a deciding factor in Davies' decision on whether to come here or not.
That's if he's asked of course.

I know he's not universally popular but I'd be happy if BD was to be our next manager.
I've also not heard any of his ex players slag him off.
He could be one of those characters that his players love and everyone else hates.

    Bit like Colin.

I know a Forest fan, his opinion of Billy Davies is 'quality manager' was really well liked by fans and players at forest. Maybe not such a bad appointment if needs must. I think his record in this division is good play offs with PNE, Derby x 2, Forest x 2. Promotion to the Premier with Derby.

I've heard that we are NOT in for Davies.

Doesn't mean of course we're not, nor does it mean we are.

    Gotta love speculation.

This thread makes me like Davies, but I'm finding it less and less likely all the time.

So many people are 'hearing' that we aren't getting Davies. Now this is just me overthinking it maybe but when there is speculation names can come out of nowhere and can be total balls, but if a name is dismissed completely, who would want to make that up? Who wants to start a rumour that it isn't Davies? Surely it'd be more exciting to say who it actually is?

Someone who wants to be thought of as in the know when they're really not? It's a lot easier to be right in saying it's not going to be someone than it is to be right in saying who it is going to be. This way who ever gets appointed (unless it's Davies) who ever started the rumour gets to say "I told you so".

Paul McKenna and Billy Davies best years together were indeed at PNE along with David Nugent and Graham Alexander to name but 2 more.

They also had the year(2009/10) @ Forest when Blackpool knocked Forest out of the play-offs and went onto Win @ Wembley.

They have history and more good than bad. I just dont think that Davies will be the next manager.

If it's Megson, Laws of even this Robinson bloke I will be severely underwhelmed.

How about Steve Wigley with maybe Brian Horton as his No.2

    OR

Lee Clark IF he can get Jordan Rhodes to follow him here. <whistle>

I'd rather half that half witted Brian from Big Brother over Laws or Megson.

If the Allams weren't prepared to fund Barmby's transfers theyre's no way they'll fund the 20 odd that Megson will need to turn us into a big physical long ball side.

Do they actually know enough about the game to know that's how he sets his teams out though?

I'd say without someone who knows football to advise them probably not.

All this speculation about who's coming in, I don't think Barmby's been sacked yet they may kiss and make up. (I have always been a dreamer.)

What will they pay for another manager though. Didn't they appoint Barmby cos it was the cheap option. How will another manager feel about their interfering in the team.
