Just heard from a mate, who's Missus works at the hospital where our former player the Rolls Royce, Mr versatile, Paul Madeley is seriously ill, I know he has been suffering from Parkinsons disease for the last few years, I'd like to use this forum to wish Paul all the best and hopefully a recovery. Jimmy Armfield on Paul Madeley âHe once actually signed a new contract on what was virtually a blank piece of paper. I called him in to discuss terms and opened discussions by saying, âOK, Paul, weâll give you so muchâ. He replied that he had no intention of leaving Leeds so he might as well sign the contract and let me fill in the details. I said, âWhat do you want, then, two years or three years?â He answered, âEither way, Iâll leave it to you. I just want to play for Leeds,â and that was thatâ. LEGEND
Hang on in there Paul. It's also been announced in the last couple of hours that little Bobby Collins passed away today. RIP Bobby MARCHING ON TOGETHER
RIP Bobby Collins. Legend. And sincerely hope Paul Madeley pulls through. Pure class player and true gent. Can one of the mods change the thread to include Bobby Coliins?
I remember the summer of 1974 we had a caravan at primrose valley. In the next caravan Paul madeley and family. Can you imagine any of today's primary donnas having to do that? Made a success of the DIY business in the end.
Just found a testimonial match on youtube. The testimonial match was for Bobby Collins and John Charles. Bremner was our Manager back then, and our Sponsor was Burton, it was one of my earliest LUFC memories. Unbelievable when you see who is playing for Leeds. Platini Rush (I know he played a season for us in his final year) Dalglish
The only thing I remember was bobby and John coming onto the pitch to be presented to the crowd. I didn't remember Rush, Dalgleish playing but thinkng about it Platini I do remember. It was Billy's team so I guess Shez, tommy Wright, might have been in there.
