http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ims-Sunderland-are-still-in-relegation-battle Paul Lambert claims Sunderland are still right in the middle of the relegation battle as he prepares his Aston Villa side for their Monday night clash. Paolo Di Canio has helped the Black Cats move six points clear of the bottom three but Lambert reckons they cannot afford to rest on their laurels. Lambert said: "A lot can be made of a new manager coming in and it's up to us to combat that and go and try to win. "You don't know if it's worked, you have to wait and see, they're still bang in it. I think Paolo would say that himself. "You can talk about new manager syndrome or whatever but it's the same group of players that were there before. "They got a result against Everton that was really good the way Everton have been playing but we're at home and the onus is on us to make the running." Lambert also played down suggestions that there would be any ill-will between the two dug-outs after Di Canio - then managing Swindon Town - appeared to taunt Villa fans about relegation after a League Cup game earlier this season. "I didn't know anything about it," he added. "I think I've got more things to worry about. I don't really get wound up by that sort of thing. "The lads that go out and play, they're the most important people along with the people that come and watch it." Really? They're 3 points behind us, same games played. Reckon he should be keeping his head down and concentrating on Villa. I'd take a point but reckon we can turn them over. Lambert must be running scared if he's starting mind games with fellow strugglers. PDC will be keeping his mind on match preperation
If his comments are "mind games" he's getting it all wrong. Wouldn't it be better to compliment our recent upturn and predict we will have no problems staying up therefore hoping we switch off?
If it's not an attempt at mind games when I don't know what he's trying to achieve. very strange comments considering their position. Wrongly directed attentions me thinks.

if he says we are out of it and they beat us (they already beat us when we were at home so its possible) then they go level on points with us, so does that mean they are safe as well course it doesnt but if he says we are then it has to mean they are. and we are not safe yet, we still need 40 points, few weeks ago i would have said less now it could be even more if Wigan do their usual. But if we do beat Villa then i think we will be pretty much safe, but if they do beat us and Wigan get a result then we could find ourselves right back in the mire.

Who gives a toss what he says? They're deeper in the poo than us, so until Monday he can spout off until he chokes, for all I care.
Paul Lambert is ****ting himself. have no doubt about that. He comes across as a couldn't care less boring ****er. But he's bricking it.
Mick really needs to sort this ****ing site out instead of sitting back in twatting Jersey on his ad revenue. It's pathetic. Haway you Irish ****, get it sorted.
