surely there would be stories about a formal approach to Norwich first ?

Exactly, probably bollocks as I say. As much as I'm a bit pissed off with Holt and that's all it is, I would be gutted if we lost PL this summer. But that's the problem with supporting a club of City's size I suppose. Bigger than most but smaller than many and as a result when we achieve any sort of success our players and sometimes managers are going to be 'cherry picked' <ok>

to right we will be here a lot longer than either of them, if Lambo is off wish he would just get on with and go so McNally can get someone new in and get on with the job, this is all wasted time if he jumps ship............hope he stays though but dont understand why he cant nail his colours to the mast and stop all the bullshit

I think this article is a bit 2+2

Just don't let McNally see it, he's probably in a suing mood!

the odds on lambert being villa boss have dropped dramatically last night so there might be something in it but he would only be their second choice. solskjaer was clearly their first. you don't go through that much trouble just to talk to someone if he isn't the one they want. would this be an issue? who knows. what i do know is that the daily star is absolutely crap

The article actually quotes Villa as saying they are not going to name the people they are interested in, so the Daily Star can only be recycling earlier guesses. Not much investigative journalism there I would say!

As someone who has carried out interviews, I would imagine football clubs follow a similar formula of reading CV's, not too difficult, and then forming a short list and then meeting the applicants. It would make sense for Villa to fancy Ole but he is unproven in the Prem after one season in Norwegian management. They may assume PL is out of bounds but they must have two or three they are interested in and PL must surely be among those.

its interesting. had lambert gone this summer (he still might i suppose) then one of the names i'd have suggested to take over at norwich would have been solskjaer. funny how these things pan out!

I would have thought Malky would have been one we would have been linked to

I would suggest we should stay away from ex or current staff after the last debacle should the need arise. A fresh name not connected like PL has worked rather than the Gunns and Grants who were abject failures.

I wouldn't read too much if anything into this report.

Just to join in the speculation of replacements for PL though I'd like Hughton or Poyet.

I rekon we spend say £2 milllion and just clone Holt and Lambert, once ours are taken from us we can replace them, with these though they should have a secret code with which we can shut them down with so they won't get nicked

Same problem at Swansea. Thing is our manager has very publicly refused to talk to Liverpool. Why doesn't Lambert come out and do the same if there's nothing in these stories? I'm holding my breath waiting for one or more of our players to be poached but nothing so far. Worrying times! <ok>

He likes to keep quiet thats his style unfortunately. In a way though it works in his favour as it makes people panic and in return it makes him seem indispensable like his only person who can get us through things, in return I can imagine this has everyone running around to trying and make him happy.
