@BBCRLSport: Claudio Ranieri has told @BBCRLSport that Paul Konchesky doesn't feature in his plans. #LCFC http://t.co/x5BLp9OgGR Right decision by Claudio. Konch has been a scapegoat pretty much since the day he signed for us. Can never question his effort or commitment to the cause and was a good player for the club over the 4 years. Yes he had alot of faults but its a thanks and good luck to him from me
Don't like bagging players that put in 100% every time they put the shirt on. He always played to his best ability, made some clangers for sure but for the majority of the time was solid and scored the odd cracker/crucial goal. Best of luck to him.
... all true ... only trouble is that his 'best ability' is a long way short of what is required at this level ... coupled with an inability to 'engage brain' before decision making ... which gets you punished at this level ... good luck to him ... can still do a job in the Championship for someone ...
Great lad who gave 100%. Harshly treated by some fans during his time here. Sadly, we are on the up and at his age he is on the decline. Thanks though, Paul.
He'd still be a starter in the Championship, but I think we've outgrown him now, with Fuchs and Schlupp both ahead of him in ability, possibly even young Ben Chilwell now as well. I hope he signs for a club that will play him, because I think he's still got a lot to offer, and has certainly been a good player for this club.
Konch is, in my view, a useful barometer to show how far we have come in the last few seasons ... at the time we signed him it was a declaration of our intent to get to the Premier League and I don't think it is in much doubt that he strengthened the squad at that time ... now however, I would have to say that I don't think he would be a starting pick even if we could wind the clock back to his very best days ... just my opinion ... but he was always beatable and likely to lose his head ... Fuchs and Schlupp (again IMHO - and Fuchs more on reputation admittedly) are of far better quality when you compare their relative attributes / potential ...
Konch's legs went a few years before we signed him but I think his brain went towards around 2013. Shame. Good pro and I wish him the best. He's not got the mental nor physical abilities to cope in the Premier League.
I cant work out if this is a good signing for them or not. He is an ageing has-been, but also a good professional
To be fair, Konch was known as "the weakest link" even back in the Championship. Amazed he managed to put in one or two good performances in the Premier last season and that he got the chance to in the first place. He'll do OK for QPR I guess, but have to confess I'm glad to see the back of him.
