... does anyone remember Roker Report pushing for him, or did I imagine that. I was just wondering because of the mess he's made at Preston. Their form has been dreadful but, despite sleepwalking towards relegation, it's only being beaten at home, by a team already relegated, that's made him realise. "Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom said his side's defeat by Plymouth is a wake-up call." They're a point off the drop and away to Bristol City in their last game ... ... lose and that'll be five defeats on the trot and possible relegation. Another bullet dodged in my opinion.
I know Paul quite well through mutual friends and at the time of us searching for a new manager and with his name coming up he told me that he was never gonna get the job. He had been up for a chat about it but that was as far as it got to. I'm glad he didn't get it as I don't think he would've suited our club
was as bad when they kept giving Honeyman 7/10 ratings for about 5464646565568 games in a row ( may or may not be an accurate number)
Usually when Roker Report are providing an opinion, by default I go with the opposite view. That stands me in good stead 95% of the time
That team deserve to go down ..the antics at our home game, and the fact the manager condoned it showed he is a very limited Manager.
Totally agree their time wasting antics and feigning injuries was an absolute disgrace , thank goodness for Mundle’s wonder strike which could prove pivotal in sending the cheating Manager and players down , those two points lost to our equalising goal could define their season -just desserts !!!
Until they arrived at the SOL I always quite liked Preston but all that changed. They were having a bit of luck, in the FA Cup, and I'd have been pleased if they'd won it ... ... but, after their shameful performance here, I wanted them knocked out and relegated. Ironically their club motto 'Proud Preston', what a joke.
I’m me of the 2 worst instances I’ve ever seen. And the other one was by Trafford for Burnley. Where he went almost completely unpunished
I had no problems with it personally. Thought it was ridiculously clever from the lad. Would Patto have done the same? I doubt it.
'Winning at all costs' is a big part of what's going wrong in football imo ... ... it's a mentality I just can't admire.
By cheating! And I can guarantee that Patto gets booked for the first one then can’t do it the second time! As our keeper appears to get booked on 60 minutes fir time wasting, when everyone else gets booked on 89+ against us
Mate it’s cheating. You call it what you want, he was cheating. As I say, I have zero doubt that Patterson would’ve been booked for the first one and subsequently sent off for the second.
Totally different. O'Nien risks being sent off and it's a contact game. The players he's pulling around do the same to him and he accepts it. If you want Sunderland players to behave like Trafford or Preston players crawling back onto the pitch after 'an injury' that's fine. I'd be disgusted.
When? Are these the ones where he gets punished for it? Yellow carded? Not like he’s punched the ball in the net or wasted6 minutes doing his lace! Agree with smug here, it’s an awful way to win.
Referees book our opposition keepers so late they know they won't have to book them again. It's only when a keeper is sent off, for time wasting, that others will think twice. Many people have complained that it's ruining their enjoyment ... ... I suppose if you're a 'win by any means' spectator the enjoyment is secondary,
