Re-posted from Rocky's thread on the Chairboys website. http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/spo...Frustration_over_for_Hayes_after_debut_brace/ Interesting stuff - sounds like he was gagging for a game. Good luck to him, our great start to the season was down in no small measure to his understanding with BWP. Unluckily for him though, a truly outstanding player began to resurrect his career at the same time with devastating effect. You may want to check this out as well - truly bizarre fourth goal, but no denying the quality of his opener. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17171469#asset
I want to know where he got that pace from. Agree with you, though, Tewkes, easily one of the best forwards in this league, were he anywhere else he would be playing regularly, it's just unlucky for him that Kermorgant has been so good.
When we signed Hayes, I was absolutely delighted. 12 months ago we could have only dreamed of signing him. Now- he can't get in the side. Shows how far we've come.
Even more ironic, when Euell started training with us in the summer to get fit, posters were saying how marvellous it would be if he actually signed for us, but of course we would never be able to afford his wages, etc, etc. Since he went to Wimbledon I don't think he has even been mentioned in a thread. We are real snobs these days, only the best is good enough.
When you look at it that way Eddie is it time for some people to re assess how well this team could do in the championship? There have been posters on here commenting that only one or two are good enough for the next level, but as a team are they all playing above league 1 level this season if the likes of Hayes can't get a run in the side. But then I think about Leon Clarke......... If I ever get ahead of myself all I have to do is think that we have Leon Clarke on the bench..
