Interesting to see Paul Hartley and his Alloa team in lasts nights play offs, young team that played football the correct way, neat passing system with pace, didn`t realise he was now a manager but on last nights showing he is one for the future.

Personally do not think Paul Hartley has any fondness or affinity for Bristol City FC,he was not here long enough for that.
But a good player no less<ok><ok>

A lazy player when he was with us IMHO it was always someone else's fault if his passes went astray or when he didn't move 10 feet to get to a pass other than that was a good player.

A good player for us, but he was clearly on his last legs. He couldn't manage 90 minutes in the Championship all season and he helped lead to the downfall of Gary Johnson.

They also said that DM was a good manager based on his exploits in Scotland but we now know that it is a different world from the one in which we live. Brief glimpses of a quality player when he felt like doing the business but like so many other players never gave the full goods all the time. Must confess I did wish we had a team full of that type of quality player but no-one listened and now look where we are.

A team full of Hartley's and we would have been relegated by Christmas. I remember seeing one 45min good spell from him in about 8 matches I saw him play in Even though we got him for free we would have been better off with Charlie Adam who came to Blackpool at the same time and wasn't on wages anything like Hartley was supposed to be getting.

I liked Hartley. Thought he was a good footballer just didn't have the legs for 90 minutes. Could land a ball on a 5p from 50 yards. Best creative CM we had in the championship and had he been 5 years younger we would of really benefited from him. He also leaves me with a fond away memory, Losing 4-0 at west brom. Completely out played. The turnstiles were broke so we had to wait in the rain for 30 mins and all I had on was a t shirt. Then out of nowhere Harley smashes in a free kick from distance. Was a great atmosphere from our lot and it was like we were 4-0 up. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/8366377.stm
