Seems Forest want to bring back Paul Hart. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15213927.stm I haven't got many other thoughts, but we must be doing ok financially to want more than £500K for him!
Not with his track record in youth roles and our board and managers long term vision for this club, this kind of thing speaks of how serious they really are
Absolutely. Declining their approach (i.e. telling them to sling their hook) is a clear indication of the new way we do things at this club. Any club coming to this board with derisory offers (Newcastle, for instance) expecting them to roll over and play dead is in for a nasty shock.
Thanks for all the breast-beating, but it's the same as with any discontented star player. If they really want to go, they eventually will. No good ever comes of stopping an employee bettering himself. Of course if it is some dumb kid whose head has been turned by an agent, it might be helpful to him to delay a departure to give time for wiser reflection, but that is not the case with Paul Hart. 500K will be our opening bid unless a specific amount has been written into his contract to cover such a situation.
You'll probably be right in the end, eddie but at least we won't be waving him goodbye for nothing. I don't suppose we can apply different rules to our backroom staff than we apply to our players but if he is to depart, an acknowledgement of the break we gave him would be welcome - or am I just being old-fashioned?
Pretty positive stuff from Hart on the OS - http://www.cafc.co.uk/page/academydetail/0,,10267~2475626,00.html A question of 'watch this space' perhaps - hoping he doesn't leave one.
