Sorry if this is mentioned on another thread, but I thought Quinn would be nailed on for replacing Meyler in the Ireland squad, Evertons Darren Gibson fair enough, but Paul Green?

It's MUCH better for us that he hasn't.

Green is more of a defensive midfielder, in a similar mould to Meyler, Quinn is more of an attacking midfielder

Not sure about that one. Glad Quinn gets a rest but I'm amazed he has never been capped by Ireland

I don't really care about Ireland tbh.

But i'm sure the ex Juventus and Italy manager knows what he's doing.

Yes Ive mentioned Quinnys exclusion before - I am amazed but putting City first I am not sorry he hasn't been picked for Ireland.

As for Paul Green - he's pants and he plays for TWS. Other than being crap, I'm not sure whether Green's viewed as a defensive or attacking midfield player - either way Quinny is head and shoulders better than him - he's not even proper Irish is he? - just a thicko former Donny irritant from South Yorkshire.

I saw Terry Dolan the other day when when I was walking my pooch.

We exchanged pleasantries and both walked on in different directions but he knew.

    Oh he knew.

I actually rate Green, he's a good larker so aren't surprised he 's been called up.

Green has been in the Ireland squad before. When the likes of Keith Andrews are walking in to the Ireland team and Quinn isn't even getting in the squad, you have to question why.

And Inter and Milan. He's the only manager in history to lead the 3 big Italian clubs.

    And Bayern and Benfica....

He also looks like Joe from the Royal family which is, perhaps, just as impressive.

I'd be interested to see how many 'English' players are in the Ireland squad these days.
Saying that I can't be that bothered otherwise I'd just google it.

Scotland have got 8 I think.

I don't see what's wrong with that, to be honest. If i was a footballer i could lark for Scotland and England. If i got a call up for either i'd be happy as larry.

If they choose to play for Eire, Wales, NI, Scotland or anybody due to their duel heritage then fine. They usually do it because there's no cat in hells chance of getting into the England team. The decent players go for England- except that Holtby(the new Spurs kid) whose lived in Germany for his whole lifew. So i dunno where the problem is.

I'm glad he isn't playing in a useless international friendly anyway.

I like Quinn but he's gone off the boil recently (he's not the only one in City's squad mind).

He didn't get called up when he was playing well (Sept-Dec) so not I'm surprised he hasn't now.

Quinny is at least 'proper' Irish as opposed to that thicko Green with a donny accent..

Yes Quinny's form has dipped of late - maybe due to having played in every game with a high tempo - by contrast Green is often on the bench at Bellend Road.

As for Trappatoni I think they'd be better letting Joe from the Royle family pick the side - at least he's from Hull!!

Paul McShane starts at right full back and Robbie Brady starts on the wing. With Sunderlands James McClean on the other one.

I don't know, hasn't Ian Harte been saying this week that he's just found out the reason he's not even been in the Ireland squad since Trap took over is because he didn't know Harte was Irish. ;)
