I'm aware this has been discussed before and done to death however I've just had a rather interesting response from Mr Duffen on Twitter.

Following PD's comment a few days ago with: "Good to see Adam Pearson on SSN explaining the rigorous process he went through before appointing Ian Dowie as Hull City manager. Woops."
I responded with: "Bitter? Greatest of respect for getting club to the PL. Financial foresight by board and yourself bizzare. Interesting reading"
He then came back with: "I'll stand by our achievements. Financial challenges were caused by relegation and "negative investment" by the owner"
To which I responded with: "The achievements cannot be questioned. It was a dream. Player contracts can be questioned& spending club money.Passing the buck?"

Although the old regime has been debated to death, it gives an interesting perspective on his views of AP. Very bitter by the looks of it! "Negative investment" is quite an interesting one. Was it PD or RB in charge of player contracts? An interesting read to say the least.

The management put forward the contract, the board then green light it if they think it's acceptable. Not sure AP had much say in the player contracts. Duffen, almost certainly did.

Absolutely. I'm not sure how Duffen could attempt to defend his self. All city fans respect what he did to get us up there however it has cost us (to some extent) as we have seen this season. Seems like he is giving the board all of the blame.

Yeah, a decent article with valid points and its true that he should put up or shut up. It seems slightly wrong for Duffen to publicly blast Adam Pearson in such a way and thats the reason why I responded to him. He even discusses the Negredo deal which is a bit of a suprise.

That's the same ****e that gets regurgitated on here, it seems people only want to use and believe "inside information" when it supports their argument.

We've only really heard one side of the story, that's probably all we'll hear. I don't believe Paul Duffen was a saint, but I do believe he probably wasn't as at fault as is made out by fans and "insiders" who actual know **** all about what happened. We'll never have a serious discussion on here, because people have already made their minds up, and no new information whatsoever would sway them.

I agree with Duffen on one thing though, Iain Dowie was a ****ing moronic choice.

Ask him what happened to the money from the boxes and what it had to do with Andy Dawson getting the elbow.

That'll shut the ****er up.

Possibly the only one willing to take it on - with no long-term contract - until the end of the season, when a real manager would be available?

There is nothing to discuss that's why, we all know what happened and the circumstances surrounding our financial predicament. Before you say it, we were already in the finacial **** before Pearson retuned, and he left with us on a sound financial footing in 2007. The lucrative and stupid contracts coincided with Duffen's bid to make the club a top flight force, which unfortunately back fired giving us an average squad (and the poorest in the league) on ridiculous wages. Anyway, how do you know that these said insiders know **** all about what happened? Is it because they are telling you stuff you don't want to hear/agree with?

'The club and its fans have long since moved on. It’s time Mr Duffen did the same'.

I think this sums things up. You'd have thought the bloke might keep his head down, leave the club alone and generally act in a more dignified manner to the club and supporters he let down. He's hardly making amends with anyone by carrying on like he is. I'll be greatful to the man for giving us top flight football, but he's looking more and more of a tit through his bitterness and unnecessary mud slinging.

Go on, tell us then.
I had no intention of saying that, I'm perfectly aware the financial mess was here before Pearson returned, however, he made it far worse.

I'd disagree that the squad was the poorest in the league, but that'd be discussing what happens on the pitch, and who does that any more?

Because if you go around the sites, you get conflicting reports, so obviously people are talking ****. I read one that said "Bullard would like to reduce his wages, but AP wouldn't let him", that would go in my favour, but I still realised it was bullshit. As I've said before, "insiders" are like mediums on telly.
