According to Skysports Paul Dickov is now a candidate for the job. It says that he is highly regarded at Oldham having done well with a shoestring budget.

I can't say I've been following his managerial career but according to the ever reliable Wikipedia he only has a 26.5% win rate and Oldham finished 17th in League 1 last season.

No sure I'm overjoyed about this prospect at the moment, does anybody else know more about him as a manager?

Gotta be better than Brian Laws.

Neither man will be an exciting prospect. Dickov struggled then failed at Oldham, whereas Laws has failed at various struggling clubs.

After considering the list of odds, my preference is for Gary Waddock (after I've ignored his playing career)!

    If Laurence Bassini reads this...

I will stop match threads if you give the managers job to Paul Dickov.

I'd quite like Westley (Stevenage manager) as he obviously has a winning record, and would jump at the chance to skip to a champo club!

I wouldn't want Westley as manager. I saw Stevenage a couple of times last season and their average tactics are based on the worst parts of the Aidy Boothroyd era (ie physical, hoofball, surrounding referees). I want someone that will continue playing the good football Malky got us playing last season.

chris, I understand what your saying but I would rather we stay up than play great football. It seems Westley and Waddock are two names I've heard a lot of, men who have done well last season, fairly local, and would probably want to step up in terms of level and pay. But PLEASE not Dickov, if he is put in charge we are as good as down!

I don't think we'll go and poach another manager TBH.

Don't want Brian Laws though who seemed to be well touted!

Don't want Dickov but he did a top job at oldham considering they are bankrupt.. including taking a pay freeze
Would have done alot better but for sheer lack of depth and financial backing

Don't want him but don't write him off just yet could be another surprise like Malky was.
