The son of our late right back Dave Clement, an excellent article in today's Mail on Sunday about his rise in the coaching world where he is now Carlo Ancelotti's right-hand man at Real Madrid. Certainly a name to watch in the future... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...acher-turned-coach-tells-Ronaldo-Bale-do.html
Cheers Sooper that was a super rags to riches type of tale. Loved the bit about Don Givens telling him what his dad was like.
He'll do, much rather take a risk on someone with a top coaching pedigree, who has also lived in the real world and has a real connection to the club than another 'name'. I'd heard of this bloke before but never connected him with 'our' Dave Clement.
A massive YES PLEASE from me.... Dont know if he'd swap that weather and life style for crappy West London, but i'd certainly be happy with him.
I had heard him on the radio some time back talking in a similar vein. Sounded very grounded and a great rack record of progression. Sounds like he has all the makings of a good manager, I hope he makes it. As for his Dad - one half of the best full back pairing we have ever had with Ian Gillard, and one of the few times that both England full backs came from the same team.
