Football fans who access free streams of top matches are putting their devices, and personal privacy, at great risk, according to a study. It says the most popular sites are attracting upwards of eight million visits per month. Like many free services, the pirate sites rely on advertising. But with few reputable brands willing to attach their name to illegal distribution, the sites turn to malicious ads to pull in profits. Of the thousands of streams studied, the researchers said that as many as half planted malicious software on the users' machine through forced ads and other deceptive techniques. The researchers examined how the sites are run and from where. As well as pop-up and overlay advertising, they observed an increase in sites demanding users install browser plug-ins in order to watch a free stream. They said that meant not only were malicious ads appearing on the football sites, but the software was also hijacking normally safe websites. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-35434765
I only ever use a stream if my Kodi is playing up (which is rare). And then as mentioned I have an adblocker.
You can get streams through Kodi. You can get all sorts through it. But you also get direct links giving an excellent picture, even on a large screen TV.
Totally baffled me. Looked on wiki and it was going on about Sailfish,Python, Rasberry and homebrew!!! What the ****s all that about
You can but you don't need to. Just download it to a PC or laptop, doesn't take long. Then read on the web about installing something like The Beast which pulls loads of different feeds together. These give you access to all PL games live, any other games and a host of other things. Greatbforvwatching films, TV series from the US and old TV programmes from years ago. I found best option was to put it on an Amazon Firestick which you then just plug in to an H.DMI slot, though you can connect laptop via HDMI to your TV.
You can actually get more SKY games than with SKY TV as you can get access to every PL game on a Saturday as they are shown live in the USA. Every other SKY channel, BT and TV from around the world.
Heaven for me for about 20 years was finding the Hull Green Sports Mail in the postbox 9-10 days after matches were played. Read it all avidly. Streaming anything has been out simply because of the snail-like internet speed in my location. Help is at hand ,however, as the new National Broadband Network system has been installed in my street. Cost to access this will double the current outlay but will provide interface speeds of 25/5 Mbps.
