Patrick Vieria has "Slamed" English Youngsters for not wanting to play for England - Thats cute, coming from someone who was born in Senegal to senegalise parents but represented France The only reason he could play for France was because his granddad served in the French army!!!
I find it rather uppity to call himself french, as if being Senegalese was of lesser standing. Personally I would have gone with my actual nationality rather than become a cheese eating surrender monkey. Pretentious patrick Viera is a twat for sure, total sellout to his heritage
I think we should all be one big football team with peace and love flowing through every pass. Except for the Danish they have to get their own team.
Auld Paddy Viera has lost it I'm afraid. Great in his day on the field, never a character to admire though, when it mattered he bottled it against keane.
I hear many are not too fond of AIden McGeady in that same light. Drogba could have played for France and Eto'o as well but they said nah we will represent the homeland. Although I can't speak too much on it as we are pulling German-Americans from the woodwork with Klinsmann!
He was always a mouthpiece but he showed his true colours when Roy Keane put it up to him. The frenchman really came out in him that day when he **** himself.
We own 90% of it..... FIFA still ahst he rest. Luckily the German-Americans for the most part speak good english and have both cultures so there isn't any awkwardness of putting on the US jersey but not being able to communicate with the players. I do like how we are looking for the Mexican/Latin Americans who also qualify. Should have been doing that years and years ago.
The French are ****s. BUT they are consistent because they are ****s to each other. However I can't see the problem with what Vierra said. Just look back to the Olympics and then see just how many Team GB athletes were selected who had little or no right to wear a British vest. And let's not even consider Cricket or Rugby.
Paddy has clearly been a bit of a twat here, obviously didn't think before speaking. With the France vs Senegal thing, I think it depends whether you are pride or ambition driven. Vieira wouldn't have won anything with Senegal, maybe not even have made a tournament, but pride of representing his home nation would have been massive. Alternatively, play for a major nation such as France and win a European Championship and World Cup. Senegal vs France isn't like choosing between England and France. A lot of players choose pride over ambition such as Giggs, Drogba, Eto'o, etc. But I don't blame a player for having ambition. Players from countries such as England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, etc don't have an issue because those countries have strong national teams with a chance of winning something anyway. I'm not saying choosing ambition over pride is right but I can understand it
