Forrest and Mulgrew both picked up knocks and look likely to miss out, kris Commons hopes to be back next week but will make Ajax away

Do you know what, randomly the other night whilst watching the game against Ajax I was thinking Forster would be a good shout for a goal if he came forward for a corner.

If we are winning a game easliy at any point this season and he isnt allowed forward for a corner I will be annoyed.

He won't come for crosses in his own box, let alone up the other end!

I expect y'all to remind of this post when big lurch Jimmy Glass'es us into the last 16.

Judging by the weather , its unlikely that we have the same entertainment tomorrow.
I doubt if there would be as much entertainment , the years would count against it.

Pre match discussion: Forrest to Cardiff?

CELTIC star James Forrest is a target for Cardiff City.

MailSport can reveal the highly-rated winger has been on the EPL side’s radar since the summer and they have watched him on four occasions.

Boss Malky Mackay made a personal check on the 22-year-old in the Champions League clash with Barcelona earlier this month.

Despite problems behind the scenes at Cardiff, Mackay is focused on his job and has a list of potential signings for the January transfer window and the following summer. He would like to add an injection of pace and some dribbling ability – and that’s why Forrest is on his radar.

The Hoops ace – under contract until December 2016 – has been in great form and was brilliant once again in the 2-1 midweek Euro win over Ajax.

Celtic have had to deal with English clubs watching Forrest for the past two-and-a-half years and the Hoops hierarchy have always gone out of their way not to encourage bids.

They have never put an official price tag on his head but Parkhead sources insist no bids of less than £7million would be considered.

Meanwhile, Hoops gaffer Neil Lennon wants to keep Kris Commons on a new contract and offer him a coaching job.

The 30-year-old forward’s deal runs until the summer of 2015 but Lennon said: “Kris is a player I would like to keep around for quite a while – and perhaps with a view to staying on here after.

“Maybe in a coaching capacity. Again that is something I would sit down and discuss with him because he has the talent for it and the personality as well.

“Kris is comfortable here. He loves it and his family are settled. He has been fantastic for us.”

Greek striker Georgios Samaras and Welsh midfielder Joe Ledley have also been offered new deals.

Both are out of contract in the summer and Lennon said: “I had a chat with Georgios last week and I am going to speak to his representatives pretty soon. Hopefully he will stay.

“There is a willingness there to speak to us and there is a willingness to keep him which is great.

“We’ve had talks with Joe too. He is aware of the offer on the table and I think he is mulling it over.”

7 million, will need to be more like 10+ but it would be a shame to see the boy waste his career going to a smaller club like that. Best he stays here and if a big club comes in for him then he should consider it.

He still needs to work on his end product for me as to many crosses go to nobody but you can see he is making progress.

Also a bit worried that ledley could be leaving on a free. Don't want to see him leaving never mind for free.

Cardiff ffs? Surely Forrest will see what's happened with Hooper and realise that the grass is not always greener even if you are on stupid wages.

That's why you should make the best out of it while you can, and playing in the premier league for Cardiff is hardly something you will look back on with pride.

It all depends on the individual, i'll bet there are plenty of ex players with a healthy bank balance who would trade some of it for memories of Cup finals and league wins or even Champions League group games.

Gary Hooper for example, i'm willing to bet that despite his far greater salary is starting to question his decision to join Norwich, I'm sure he said he wanted to improve his chances of an England call up, that seems to have worked a treat.

It's a cliche I know but money is not the be and end all for everyone. I personally am not motivated by money, I never have been. There must be players out there who feel the same way.

We are carving them open at will could be about 5 or 6. Pukki will start to bury those chances when he gets a bit of confidence behind him.
