http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25789619 Netted his 2nd goal in 3 appearances for Derby. Never thought this guy would come good but since moving to MK Dons he's done nothing but impress. As unrealistic as it sounds, it would be fantastic to be able to bring a home grown English striker into the first team and lead the line eventually.
Said the same thing about Bamford a week or so back and got slaughtered for daring to suggest a kid with talent won't get a game under Jose. I truly believe Jose is not a good judge of kids with potential, Lukaku being the best current example. Joses' forte is superstars with runs on the board, and blending them into winning combinations. And before the "what about Oscars" get going, he was NOT discovered by Jose. I can't think of a player from the Youth team that has "made it" under Jose, at any Club he's been to. Maybe someone else can ??
Well thank God someone trusted Wilshire, 18 year old Rooney, Luke Shaw, Hazard, Neymar, Mezit Ozil and others when they were young.
Are you comparing any of our youngsters to the names you mentioned? Not one product of our youth system, bar maybe Matic, has gone onto be anywhere near the ability of those players. The main reason for us not developing our own talent is the constant change of manager, it has absolutely nothing to do with Mourinho - who definitely will bring players through if he is given the time!! Nobody slaughtered you for suggesting Bamford wouldn't get a game CP, people were just correcting you when you suggested he was banging them in for Derby when he'd only made 1 appearance. It appear Islam Feruz has just signed a four year deal with the club which will now keep him with us till 2018 - I doubt Jose would be doing these things without planning to play the fella.
Too many talents are over hyped, especially here, mainly because we don't get a lot. I do genuinely believe that will change, especially with players like Piazon, Thorgan and Wallace about, but we shall see where Jose takes us.
If he keeps scoring, goes back to Chelsea and shows promise, you never know. He might be a bargain for Liverpool
The guy has played one championship game and scored for MK dons, how does that make him ready for the Prem? But Jose is not known for promoting youth, so why are you getting so obsessed with this? Enjoy Jose's other qualities He put Varane in ahead of pepe at real, but I guess varane was a French youth player
I'm not obsessed, no more than I am with the need for a new striker, CD or a conductor in midfield.A blind man could see those needs. I repeat, Jose agreed to rejoin us to build the team AND introduce youth. The Club said so, the Manager said so, not once, but repeatedly. He has 3 years to do the job,and has also said repeatedly, that winning this season takes a back seat to building. He is building, he is winning ,but he is NOT bringing on youth. So job half done so far. And he has scorned opportunities, like Bertrand, A CL winner with CFC, which Jose isn't yet, watching a right back play in his specialised position. I happen to agree with Drogs, Olly and 100 years, it's time some kids were included in the process. Not played every game, just given a chance.
We'd all like some local London lads in the side. But Jose is like a politician, he told Roman what he wanted to here to get elected. You said yourself, don't believe Jose's words only his actions He may well develop some youth players when the side is more stable, like next season, when he has finished his 'puzzle', bought a striker, regista, etc and we are stronger so can rotate the odd youngster. But I'm not holding my breath
We're on the same side completely about that !! If he does decide to use some kids, he's got quite a few to choose from !!
Scored the winner against Sheff Weds today. 5 in 7 for the youngster! just seen the goal too, absolute peach. https://vine.co/v/MZJ5MVtXK7X
