There is an interview here from one of the Bolton medical people that worked on him, he was in effect dead for 78 mins. Without over dramatising it is surely a miracle that he has survived at all. Very good interview worth a watch http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17455631 Cheers Mabon
Yep, saw that Mabon. Amazing the lad came around at all. His career is probably over but at least he's alive.
Knack I think we can be thankful that facilities at White hart lane are of the highest standard, hopefully all the other clubs especially where things are not up to scratch will learn from this and act accordingly, it can happen to anyone even the fittest of athletes.
good on the lad im really glad he is talking and improving day by day, well done to the medical staff at spurs and the hospital....
Really pleased that the lad has pulled though this and now the talk is of his recovery period. I just hope "God" leaves some of the credit for saving his life to the fantastic medical staff that actually did it.
I'll second that. Whether you're religious or not you have to admit God gets the credit when it works out but seems to go awol when it doesn't and poor old fate takes the blame.
He's one lucky young lad to be alive, and fortunate that he had such medical expertise close at hand, love it when a true story like this, has a happy ending, lets hope he goes from strength to strength!............... please log in to view this image
Very lucky young lad. Someone tell me, how is he not severely brain damaged? 78 minutes is a long time for the brain to be starved of oxygen. It's a miracle.
I'm guessing they had to do CPR for the whole time his heart was stopped for. CPR keeps the oxygenated blood flowing around the body.
On a lighter note, when he started talking he asked what happening and was told Torres had scored 2 goals he replied"**** how long was i out for"
Walked out of hospital today .. Love a good ending . Well done to you & the teams' behind you ..especially the medical one .
