As illustrated by our manager in the article below, we have to remain patient in the pursuit of transfer targets. I and many others on here have expressed a desire for patience amongst fans, some of whom seem to want something to happen on a daily basis in order to feed their hunger (or rather, their lack of football news during the summer) - do we really want to shell out more than we need to in order to acquire new players, or should we bide our time and get the right players at the right price?

Be patient people. Good things come to those who wait <guinnessemoticon>

Yes, I've just read the article and let's hope it silences some of those who are itching for any new players to come in now.

We have the basis of a very good team as assembled by Bryan Gunn and Paul Lambert and I expect them to deliver again this season (I see no logic as to why we should suffer from 'SSS') and I would like to see a centre back such as Davies from Brum, a holding/defensive midfielder and a winger to give Pilks and E Bennett some competition for places if CH wants to play that formation.

The over riding factor for NCFC is to be financially secure. If that means we wait or even say no to players who want too much, then thats how it has to be. I assume CH was told this when he got the job.
I know there may come a time when if we have been in the Prem for 3 or 4 seasons where the board might decide we can take the odd risk. I have a feeling that many clubs might use us as a model and come to their senses over player demands. Of course, the publicity seeking foreign owned clubs may well do different but I don't envisage our ownwership changing in the near future.

Yes, this has to be the sensible play however frustrating it might be at times.

Agreed supers! It's perhaps alright to moan (to an extent) about not getting our targets but it isn't a huge problem with when we attain our targets whether it be in June or transfer deadline day.

Are you being serious?? We have Holt, Vaughan (if he stays fit), Morison and Jackson and especially if CH sometimes adopts the 'one up top' formation!! Also, I think you'll find that over half of our goals came from players other than strikers last season!! <ok>

It's not something I have given a lot of attention to as I know the transfer window is open until the end of August. Still so much time and it's worth remembering exactly how much business is actually done on transfer window deadline day - it is almost as much as what has taken place in the previous 3 months!

Because the promoted clubs and particularly the Saints and Royals have been doing what we did last season and get the new guys in early, it appears as if we aren't doing much.
But in reality, there is hardly any business being done in the Prem at the moment.

That aren't even many juicy rumours to talk about, probably a source of frustration for many, which is rich pickings for trolling (the frustration)

There is still plenty of time and I think there will be 2 or 3 coming in with the same number going out as Hughton looks to strengthen the areas that need it.
