Rodgers is bitching about referees and complaining to the Chief Referee... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19752693 So far this season most of our referees have been seemingly biased in their decision making. Personally, I prefer our manager's dignified silence on the issue. Not once has Laudrup used the referee as an excuse for a result, long may it continue
All he's saying is that he and Chico were both surprised at the decision and they, both, will have to adapt. He didn't have a go at the referee or blame him for the result. Rodgers is saying Liverpool are being treated differently and is trying to alter the performances of referees in the future...he is also threatening to send his players out to dive in future.
he`s got a genuine reason 2 feel cheated after that sending off the weekend.......i just cant see where the ref made the decision that one was worse than the other it just doesnt ring true>>>>>>>>>>>ive had my eye on the dodgy refs for a long time,i see all sorts of double standards swaying games throughout the season......infact it can almost dictate a season and how it will finish. tbh i dont trust football one bit i just go for my son these days.
He's getting nervous with the Mighty Swans games coming up!! Bless his little irish cotton socks.....................
I thought overall the refs last season were much better than the ccc, this year we have been a bit unlucky but nothing too bad IMO. People talk about the Felini handball but from the refs positon and in real time it was quite difficult to pick up,they dont have the benifit of slow motion replays so we must respect the calls, the assistant referee may also have been a bit unsure aswell, **** happens !!
why is it pathetic??? how many on here bitched as you put it about the referee with the everton game ??? Good on him i say at least he is doing something. more managers should join him....
It's pathetic because the world ISN'T out to get Liverpool. They're near the bottom of the league because they've had a tough start against opposition that are better than them and been outplayed by the likes of West Brom. It's not the referee's fault. A manager who blames the referee is pathetic in my book as he is absolving his players of their responsibility...fans can say what they want.
wait until we get another bad ref and see the bitching then.. More managers need to complain about the standard of the ref's in the premiership....good on him..
Yeah - and eventually you will have no refs. People expect refs to be superhuman, with X ray vision and the ability to have instant replays in their head. Get real. Refs are human and will make mistakes. Once we have goal line technology we will have nothing to talk about after matches!
You are the manager and you see an injustace to your team what do you do... A) do nothing and take it on the chin B) Make it known that the ref is rubbish and should be re trained or ref lower league football. There is to much at stake to turn a blind eye. one mistake is bad but when a ref keeps on making mistakes then their governing body needs to be told and eventually there will be a pattern emerging of below standard refs and the refs board can do something about it.... as for no refs then what a cop out of course there will be refs who would be itching to take their place refereeing top class football......fergie,mancini,brendan and many more are right to complain and they are not whining one bit they want fair play and consistency and rightly so...
Just looking at the table, off the top of my head I can remember Fergie, Wenger, Pardew, AVB, Rodgers, Martinez, O'Neill and Allardyce moan about referees (and much more). I'm sure I could find something for basically everyone bar Laudrup, because he's new. On the topic of Laudrup, he hasn't exactly been saying all the right things recently in many people's eyes, has he (regarding match fixing)? I don't care personally and didn't read much into it, but I imagine he riled quite a lot of people - as many as Rodgers maybe
Thats not completely true Tw, we would have beaten Man City only for a defensive error near the end that cost us two points, against Man Utd despite the sending off we dominated them and we were ok against West Brom until Aggers sending off. Part of Rodgers complaint is that it's a case of Suarez's reputation going before him in the eyes of Referees and yes hes the maker of his own problem because he dives/falls over when theres no need to and needs to get that part of his game sorted out. But the referees/linesmen as well as the players have to stick to the rules and if hes fouled he should get a free kick/penalty like any other player, Rodgers is also having a go about the sendings off, Evans tackle for example was just as bad as Shelvey's so it's either a yellow each or a red each. It's fair to say his meeting with the head of the referees association never had any benefit due to the blatant penalty on Suarez at Carrow Rd on saturday that wasn't given but as i explained his reputation affects the referees decisions instead of the laws of the game.
