Dont you think that he has done quite a poor job so far this season? No points on the board yet compared to Rubens' 4 points. At this stage last year Nico Hulk had a couple of points. A mistake in my opinion dumping the very talented German in place of a mediocre driver.
Compared to last year, their car is a dog and I think his performances have improved as of late. Next year could be better for him.
I like Hulkenberg but he didn't match or better Barrichello as Pastor is managing to do in his first season. That car's a dog but he keeps putting it into Q3 while Rubens doesn't. He's been unlucky and made a few novice's mistakes, all to be expected. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Give Pas a chance! That's all I am saying
Maldonado may have qualified better than Rubens this year but his racing leaves a lot to be desired. This article by James Allen states Maldonado as losing 20 places off the grid this year! Having said that, he deserved to get some points in Monaco and was unlucky not to.
In Monaco if it wasnt for Hamilton, he would have double the points of Barichello. He is way better than Hulkenberg was. Just because he's a pay driver, everyone thinks he's ****...
I'm not convinced about him at the moment. I was a fan of Nico Hulkenburg and I believe he did enough in 2010 to keep his seat at Williams. Then we heard about William's finance, and then they replace Hulkenburg with a pay driver. My first impressions of him weren't good but my opinion changed when he got to Q3 in Spain and then repeated that feat in Monaco. He drove a great race in Monaco and deserved 8 points. Since then, he hasn't done much so I don't know what to think about him.
Agree. It's difficult isn't. Especially when one considers that the 2011 Williams is rather poor compared to 2010 model (which is saying something isn't it?).
In my opinion he hasn't done anything special, maybe a few good drives but thats all. He deserves the rest of the season as he is a rookie, but he's kind of at the 50/50 stage. A few good races and he could easily be in for a second season.
What are the chances that Williams will keep him on if he has a terrible season? I know they need the money but surely they have enough pride left to still not let sponsors dictate their driver line up?
wakka2, what is your problem with hamilton! i haven't seen you much and all your posts are about how perfect seb is (he is good, but not perfect) and how you basically hate hamilton? and it seems that you don't like other drivers much either, calling webber rubbish because he didn't crash into lewis to help his teammate! if you can't contribute productively, i'm afraid this forum just isn't for you...
The Maldonado / Hulkenberg comparison is interesting. Hulkenberg came with hype which he did not live up to. My lasting impression was that I was not overly impressed! There are similarities to some extent with Maldonado, but I am a little more impressed by him than I was with Hulkenberg at a similar stage. It's a close call but at this stage, Maldonado has his nose in frontâ¦
Interesting you make comparisons to Hulkenburg cosi, The rumours going around are that they may be team mates next year
Interesting rumour! Do you know any more? Where did it come from? I quite like the idea because I thought Hulk did enough to justify a seat and deserved more time to develop but would they really want two novices together in the team? Also, I think Rubens will want another year, if only to complete his 20 seasons if that doesn't sound too daft.
