    Pastor Maldonado - classic F1

Pastor Maldonado is the latest driver to choose his five favourite all-time grands prix for BBC Sport's classic Formula 1 series.

The Venzuelan has made quite an impression one way or another in his first season in F1.

On the plus side, he has out-qualified his team-mate, the veteran Rubens Barrichello, an impressive six times in 14 races so far this season.

    His choices where:

    The 1979 French Grand Prix
    The 1984 Monaco Grand Prix
The 1989 Japanese Grand Prix - obviously
The 1993 European Grand Prix - obviously
    The 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix

The links are on Benson's page <ok>

Wouldn't be surprised if he chose 2008 to make up with Hamilton...
Same race over and over... hope somebody chooses something different, I think I know the race by heart..(2008).

1989 seems to be in all of them too, along with 1993.

Well it's not the drivers fault that they were 2 special races. So what if they keep picking them? F1 drivers are F1 fans too.

Makes it all the more annoying that they wouldn't let Trulli talking about his karting triumph. Would've been a lot more interesting than hearing a recollection of the same three races for the millionth time.

Imagine the 1984 Monaco GP now.

It would be won by Bernd Maylander!
