Reading some interesting stuff on the potential impact of the virus on sport. A very real prospect is that games could be played behind closed doors, which would hurt Town disproportionately due to our gate receipts vs TV revenue ratio of income.
All cancelled until 3rd April at least - got to be the correct decision. There have to be doubts whether the season will continue at all as experts say that we have some weeks to go before the virus really hits the country. Once that happens, advice will be stay indoors as much as possible
With all the legal ramifications I think they will finish this season in the summer / autumn and then shorten 2020-21 maybe to a 23 game season + cups.
Feck it - abandon the season for all 4 divisions. Not for our sake, as it'll be pointless, but just to shut those scousers up would be freeking hilarious
Good decision for everyone concerned. I have sadly cancelled a trip to NZ and my ancient 98 yr old Aunt. One ray of Suffolk sunshine - we might get our full 1st XI team fit and ready by June, July whenever!
Maybe we'd get some injured players back..not that it would make too much difference, as we are still reliant on a few teams to lose 3 or 4 games each
Forget this season. It might give us a chance to regroup and get a bit of momentum back to build on for next season.
Or the boys just decide there’s really nothing worth playing for and perform as if they’re already on the beach!(Like the end of every Season in living memory!)
I was looking forward to getting up an hour later on Saturdays for the next three weeks as we already changed our clocks and are only 7 hours behind England until the end of the month.
