Cole, Downing, Allen and Shelvey. Cole has been on for 5 minutes and given the ball away 5 times (I counted). West Ham are launching crosses in and it isn't helped by Dilly dally at left back. Allen, the guy offers nothing and never has. Shelvey, well we all know Gerrard should have his role today. It's not just today, but the majority of these guys are constant passengers in our team and to some extent a liability.
I feel as if the homework wasn't done for this one, we've looked sluggish and slow. Not good enough, BR needs to give them a kick up the ass at half time.
Bit harsh on Allen I feel but agree with the others. At the very least, Wisdom should have been on the bench to come for Enrique.
I think Allen should be playing still. I'm not his biggest fan, but he's looked better with Lucas playing behind him. Cole and Downing should never be near the 18. I have no clue what BR is thinking. I'd much rather play two youth players and lose than play two former england internationals (!) and lose. At least the youngsters will learn and will have the desire to fight for their spot.
Allen, Shelvey, Cole and Downing have all been ****e. Gerrard and Sterling have had off days, that leaves us with 5 players trying to win this game for us. Pissed right off with this one. Dont even look like getting back into this
He works hard and is always an option for his teammates, two very good attributes for a midfielder. His passing is decent but its been a bit off of late
Henderson came on and did well, set up the third and balanced our midfield very well. Been impressed with him of late.
Despite Cole's goal, he needs to be shipped out. One good moment in 70mins of gifting them possession is not enough. We can get better from our youth team.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should save these sort of threads for after the match. Joe Cole did as good a job as he could have done, I much prefer Suso too but he doesn't seem to have a goal in him. Whereas there's always a chance with Cole due to his experience in the box. Shelvey is still a young lad who was playing OUT OF POSITION, he did the best he could and he held up the ball incredibly well in the second half, not to mention the fact that his nifty footwork should have won us a penalty. Allen did nothing outstanding, but he did nothing wrong. Who else should have played? Downing is just the go-to-guy for hatred. He had a fairly solid game and made some crucial tackles around our area. Also, to the guy who mentioned Hendo. He was absolutely fantastic when he came on, great performance from him with lots of energy.
