The wheels have come off for Bradford in the league since their Cup heroics. An awful lot to do to get promoted now. I am not a great believer in the harmful effects of a Cup run but it certainly seems the case here. PDC would make sense. He would be one of the few managers with the arrogance to think he can perform a miracle.
Stupid decision by them, he could have kept them up, crazy, Parky might as well go for it, a Reading legend, sure some fans would support him rather than a random foreigner, unless that foreigner is PDC
Problem with Paulo going to Reading is that they'd have to extend the boardroom to get his and the chairman's ego in the same room. Anyway, Paulo's holding out for Pope.
It would be like a poor mans equivalent of the Mourinho-Abramovic saga In reality, I think Reading and PDC would be a poor fit. That's not to say he wouldn't do well, but he would perhaps see himself as being bigger than the club. I feel Swindon is a bit of a one-off semi mis-match for him - he grew to hold a certain fondness for the club, but used them as a stepping stone to get himself onto the managerial ladder. Dare I say it, the only club whose ego's would match his own, would be the Wendies (interestingly enough...one of his former clubs).
Did you see what Bothroyd said about the Massive? "They're a League One club that got promoted and their fans need to understand that." (Mind you, he has always been a legend only in his own mind. I cannot believe he was capped for England. Shows they give away England caps in jumbo crisp packets these days. I am old enough to remember consistently great players who never got a single cap). Not sure why I am mocking. His remark equally applies to us. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21754403
