Anyone have any ideas on parking for Saturday. Taking a 3 year old so walking massive distances is out of the question.
See the link mate - the bottom post from Nash is spot-on ..... you can get a touch closer but getting away can be terrible. http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=forum&forum_id=8&thread_id=25129
One of the side streets off Narborough Road is best for easy in, easy out, but you might have to walk a bit.
Last time i went i parked right near the ground on a side street. No problem.then went in that Indian restaurant near the ground for beer.
If you get there early enough you can park in the Holiday Inn car park which is next to the ground - you have to wait for half hour after match to leave though
Thanks all, been a couple of times in the past but last time I went was when Michael Bridges scored a cracker! Remember parking on a side street. Read on footballgroundguide they had put some permit parking only in but will have a drive about.
Do not use M1. Over the bridge, M180, A15, bypass Lincoln, A46 bypass Newark, which brings you in North of Leicester, follow signs for city centre. Use Google maps before you go. Look for Leicester College Freemen's Park campus. It is on South side of city centre. You should approach this campus from the North having followed inner ring road round the city centre. You will pass Leicester prison on your left. Immediately after you pass Leicester Tigers Rugby and Toyota franchise on your right there is a Leicester College sign. Use the car park. I use it so please save me a space. I retired last October and cannot recall the post code for the car park. Sorry. Ground is 5 minutes from there and you pass the Counting House (next to Morrisons) which is ok for a pint.
That stretch of the A46 after Newark is particularly under used in my experience. Used it many times.
LE2 7LW takes you to Aylestone Road which has no access to parking. That is why I didn't post it. I cannot remember the post code for t'other side of the 'triangle' (which is what it is).
isn't there a big car park about two minutes from the ground where the old ground used to be. Check out: http://www.footballgroundguide.com/...league/king-power-stadium-leicester-city.html
It's a great piece of road, living south of the river I tend to use it all the time if I have to get onto the M1 - getting on to it near to Leicester Forest services is far better than the old alternative.
Depends how early you get there/how easily you want to get out and what you consider walking distance. 15-20 mins - Aylestone Sports Centre - LE26LU (Free, as far as I can remember). Park up and it's one straight road to the ground. - As OLM says, anything off Narborough Road with a space. Make sure you pay and display though. 5-10 mins - Welford Road's Car Park - Park up and be in your seat in 10 mins from there - Although parking is extortionate. Get in early. 0-5 mins - Filbert Street Car Park - Excuse it as it shamefully looks a right mess but it's the spot that our great club used to live. 5 minutes and you'll be in the away enclosure. No idea how much it costs. As always, the closer you park the harder it is to get out after.
Aye, but unless you have something more precise this will take him within a very short distance of obvious parking.
We always park opposite , near a cinema , pub and bingo hall .. Can't remember exactly which one is the car park , I just recall all those things ..... Think it was Leicester anyway , just sounds like a good night out
Parked last time off Narborough Rd but must have been b4 any pay and display. Previously paid to park in a church car park near some shops with tempting car parks but clamping signs. Take care tomorrow! The Highcross shopping centre is about 20 min walk from the ground but would be pricey, especially if you drop the missus there and meet up after for a meal.
