it will be my 1st visit there and I see the car park only takes about 400 cars, anyone know where to park (close by)
nightmare...i d say stay away and go to a more appealing fixture like bristol or pretty much any Championship ground excepting London instead. save your money. its the worst matchday experience in the league!
theres a big car park oppisite near a pub and a cinema, charges the usual 4/5 quid...2 minutes from the ground, never had a problem there.
I just park on the street, there's normally some spaces in the side street between Panjet Motor Spares and Anika Balti Express.
There's hundreds of places to park within 5-10 minute walk from the ground. Can't remember the name of the street I always park on but there's a decent housing estate just off narborough road where you can get straight out from after the match. Djs shout at freemans park is a decent one too but getting away from there will probably take awhile due to traffic.
Not for scooter riding pillocks there isn't ... but more seriously ... you may be able to park on the industrial estate (Freemans Common) opposite Raw Dykes Road (no obvious Lesbian jokes please) but not sure whether there are any parking restrictions on match days .... you can park in side streets back down the main road Aylestone Road towards the motorways and take a 5 - 10 min walk to the gound.
Park at Leicester Rugby club, it's a 10min walk from the ground and gives really easy access back to the M1. Biggest advice I can give is to leave the M1 at junction 22 not 21 and go down the A50 in to Leicester. It is SOOOO much quieter traffic wise and really easy to find the stadium from.
Best place is Leicester Tigers Rugby Union Ground just down the road. But you need to be there early as it fills up quickly. Thats where i park. Small walk to the ground.
I'm taking the Megabus there and then the train back. Megabus is quite cheap and if you get Leicester > Sheffield and then Sheffield > Hull tickets on the way it's quite cheap
There really are better places than the tigers ground to get back to the m1, the place I park is the upperton road housing estate, on the left as you go up narborough road, it's a good area an plenty of parking spaces available so long as you're there by 2. Then it's literally straight out into narborough road and down to the m1 as soon as you reach your car, no ques or copious amounts of traffic lights and it's free. As OLM says there's also spaces here and there down narborough road and lots of side streets, but parking round there is difficult at te best of times so I wouldn't bank on it on a match day. Desfrog, I'd look around the tigers ground, de Montfort hall/uni kind of way to get back on the a46, but of you prefer a bit of a walk over sitting in traffic st georges retail park is right at the bottom of Melton road (paki central!) where there's lots of space and straight out from, just don't make it known youre a football fan and you'll be fine there, about 15-20 minute walk.
if you must go, Leicester Rugby Club is NCP and on Saturday, or night, gets full very quickly. Not sure about Sunday however. Shivver......Horrible place that Leicester
There are two, the main one is NCP, the one behind the stadium isn't and is open for football match days. We have parked there the last couple of seasons.
The A 46 has recently been made a dual carridgeway ( before the cash ran out) all the way Leicester from my house but all the locals ask why , its not a place anyone would choose to visit, so it seems people outside of a 10 mile radius of the place agree with you Mussie
the place, the ground and the whole drum banging, music after-goaling, face-painted, foam handed matchday experience is the worst in the league. even worse than Huddersfield, Palace and Bolton. Yeah, it's that bad Edit: Forgot to mention the 1:3 gradient away fans terracing squashed into a tighter wedge than a G string on Hattie Jaques' btm
Erm, probably because all the traffic that goes to Grantham/Sleaford way from south on the m1 or vice versa use it? The road was **** on busy days before.
There isnt many places to park around the stadium. You best off parking a decent distance away and walking a bit. Its very difficult to get out from the stadium when parking close to it. Should you want to park close by their is a Morrisons and Odeon close to the stadium. Or if you want to pay you could also park at the Leicester Tigers or the hospital, both 5 mins walk from the King Power
If I was going (which I'm not) I'd probably park at the Dry Dock and have a pint in there for old time's sake. Probably quite empty as well because term time doesn't start until October.
