I am not saying we should, but if we get offered a good ã6million+ offer for Adel: 1 - Should we accept? 2 - Should we get Scott Parker as a replacement? Thanks COYRsssssssss
1. A tiny bit of prem experience or not, I cannot for the life of me see what Carroll can do that Taarabt cannot (give or take the odd header perhaps)... ã6m or thereabouts is a joke price by comparison. 2. Agree with Swords - won't happen, besides which we'd still be weaker than West Ham (manager apart).
1. No 2. No He's going to be worth way more than that, and Parker is a completely different kind of player.
Even if the offer was made which it never would be because West Ham won't be spending ã6m on anyone soon it would rely on both teams agreeing terms with the other club and as Taarabt no doubt wants PL football and Scott Parker is on ã60k per week it's never happening.
Can people please stop talking about Parker, he's POTY FFS , he ain't coming to us. The part about accepting an offer for Taarabt, very possible, in fact I think it will happen.
Tis true Brix that the fee for Carroll was crazy but unfortunately we can't use that transfer as a marker. I think it was just one of those mad transfer window deals and Tarbs is a totally different player. IMO I can't see us getting anymore than 6m for him but bearing in mind we only paid 1m for him last year and he hasn't kicked a Premiership ball in anger, then I think 6m quid would be good business.
1.if savage can Mark Adel out of the game every premiership player will be able to would take 6million now... 2.Parkers off to spurs
I think Taarabt will have been sold before the start of the new seson. If a few clubs are after him we may be lucky to receive 8 to 9 million. As much as I love the way he plays I think we might actually be better of in the Premiership without him. I know most of you will disagree with this.
But Warnock said Parker should be England captain, so i think that is an indication that he may give him a good go.
Because Warnock clearly likes him, and we have more money than Tottenham and Arsenal. thats the point.
How do we not have more money than them two? Anyway, if we dont, the Warnock factor is very powerful.
Totally agree. He'll never make it unless he learns to be more of a team player. If he doesn't bring this to his game then yes, we'd be better off selling.
I think the consensus is that for a fee of around ã6million+ we should consider selling him. My point about Parker, was merely to illustrate the type of player we would need, to fill the gap of Adels departure, as it stands it seems he may be headed to a North London club, but the way I see it is, with us, Parker will probably start all games (save injuries or suspensions) and that would certainly help his England career. I would rather Adel stays with us for as long as possible, because he is exciting to watch, and has shown the successful mentoring side of old man Warnie. COYRsssssssss
