Arsenal's South Korean striker Park Chu-Young says he's not received any offers from a new club following speculation linking him with QPR. The 26-year-old had been linked with the London club after news spread they were set to unveil a South Korean, which now appears to be Park Ji-Sung. The Arsenal man linked up with South Korea's Olympic squad for training at the Paju National Football Centre on Saturday and spoke with reporters about his club future. "There's no progress. There's no offer so I have nothing to consider," Park said. Park managed only six appearances for the Gunners last term, scoring once, after making the move from Monaco in August. Park added: "If an offer comes, then I'll consider it. Right now, I don't want to think about Arsenal [as he's focusing on the Olympics]." As for his compatriot's move to QPR, the striker said he believes he'll perform well with Mark Hughes' side. "I didn't know about it, it's Ji-Sung's decision. I believe he'll play well there too," he said.
I reckon some journo was having a Cerny moment and got the wrong Park. Next rumour will be that we are signing either Regent or Hyde.
Indeed......this Journo has his Koreans mixed up......he is writting about Ki Sung, but has put Parks name.
Could well be true. Sloppy but stuff like this happens. Remember those Americans who thought they were buying Tower Bridge and got a flat old London Bridge instead?
Yes, I forgot that one : 1983 Luther Blissett Watford to AC Milan £1.0m Ex Watford player and TV coach to the 'Legends', Luther Blissett bemused many, if not all, Milanese fans back in 1983 when he was transferred to AC for one million pounds. Back then that sort of fee could buy you almost anyone in world football. So what did the aristocrats of Italian football see in this bustling, if not too skilful, striker ? Some say that the Italian scouts sent back reports on the wrong player, and no, we don't mean Wilf Rostron. During his one season in Serie A he notched a measly 5 league goals in 30 appearances and was shipped back to Vicarage Road within the year. 'Luther Missett' may well have been a name nearer the mark, but don't mock it - from this bizarre transfer a cult arose: the "Luther Blissett Project", in a nutshell a phenomenon that started in Italy and involves performers, artists, even activists, using the name of the Hornet's legend as an alias, or a nom de plume. Books, poems, media hoaxes, have all used the name in places all over the world, and all thanks to that transfer.
